As far as raw power can take you in today's heavyweight climate. He isn't devoid of skill but there are guys who can outbox him, and he really isn't all that fast. In other words, his ceiling ought to be roughly the same as Joyce's.
Age is more important than anyone appears to believe. 27 years and 1 month old. He has been a pro since he was 23 years old. Fortunately for him, he turned pro relatively early, still went back to the Olympics and won gold, and has already cracked the top 50 at heavyweight. I need to change my vote to unified champion, however you can never tell until it happens. Who knows, heavyweight is weak as hell though. By the time he is 30 year's old, the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will be mid-thirties and Deontay Wilder will be 40. So, it seems his physical prime will be at the crossroads. Maybe just the right time?
Was nodding along with the first paragraph and most of the second - then you said "Joyce" when I was thinking "Price". Either way it adds up the same way, won't get to a single belt... IMHO he's too slow and not quite durable enough to make up for it - time will tell, but I don't see him being way up there.
not sure, dont think his success will translate to the pro game. he didnt respond well to catching a hard shot, got all wide eyed and turned to his corner. that plus the fact that hes huge with big power yet fights like he has a glass jaw, just dont see much dog. but i havent seen much of him, so maybe hes shown heart elsewhere.
He's good but a little too slow and predictable to become a unified champ. But he's skilled and cagey, so it wouldn't surprised me if he wins one of the belts at some point. But I'll be surprised if he ever comes the man in the division.
Gotta be a concern that tiny Torrez was able to catch him with all manner of haymakers and his main defence seemed to be to hold
Very skilled offensively. Defense needs some work. Moves very well for a big man. I can see him being the man with some improvements on defense.
