Honestly - I've said Joshua has lost to the small fat guy, he's officially listed as being taller than me, and while not 260ish pounds, I wouldn't be described as skinny, truth is ruiz is short for the current division and he does carry excess weight.

 

he is fat, and he is small for the division. which is actually more embarrassing for aj, since the world saw that fat little guy slap him around the ring like he stole something. imagine if he were the same size and shape as aj? he would be eating through a tube right now instead of making excuses.

Imagine how embarrassed Joshua actually feels due to the fact he was beaten into submission by a superior fighter that night. The fighter he called "a little fat guy".
If Ruiz had trained harder he could easily have repeated in the rematch

Joshua can talk smack about any other fighter but needs to keep his trap shut regards Ruiz.

At least Dillian Whyte avenged his KO loss against Povetkin properly.

Eddie engineering an extra big ring for him to jab and move against the little fat guy in the rematch is not a satisfactory way to get the belt back.

It's not like he's going to give Ruiz a trilogy match either, so he'll have to suck it up and admit to himself that he snaked the rematch and wasn't good enough to stop him.

 

Although I agree, you could also argue that Ruiz's previously granite chin was cracked by Joshua. So, that is something.
Being dropped and stunned multiple times by Arreola only confirms his chin isn't what it once was...

 

Anthony Joshua, the man that got KO'd by a morbidly obese deluxe baconater built ass dude. The same obese guy that Joshua couldn't even KO in the rematch, The same obese guy that got dropped and hurt twice by a shot Arreola. Joshua is certainly moving forward with his career unlike Fury but he has no room to talk about Ruiz and Mexicans

 

Joshua doesn’t strike me as the most intelligent speaker. His words seem rehearsed sometimes, like a man that tries to sound knowledgeable and well travelled. However, it does the opposite for me a lot of the time.

Take his comments (in paraphrase form); Ruiz is a fat little man in the HW division. He did grant him the fight that did financially change his life.

However, he did not grant him the win. He did not give Mexico its first HW champion. That was very much taken by force.

Having said all of that, I do believe Joshua is saying it from a place of sincerity, despite the poor choice of words. He’s praised Ruiz plenty for his win, and usually praises others where it is due. This has included both Fury and Wilder, along with Whyte. Generally he appears to be a classy operator as far as boxers go.
