    Lol.

Show me the boxer who was able to consistently and accurately land on Ali and Young overcoming their defenses and elusiveness to take them out.

Lol- Frazier, Norton and even Oscar Bonavena and Ron Lyle for Ali and Jimmy was so up and down plenty of guys beat him and take them both out is a stretch for a start Ali has the GOAT chin even with pretty much nothing less he was impossible to stop.

Botha was winning that fight when Tyson finally caught him. Again, I never said he didn't have power, I said that it was his combination of speed and power that made him so dangerous when he was younger.

I guess George Chuvalo had a glass jaw. He proved Foreman can only take out weak chinned guys.

I guess Peralta was just a flat footed stationary bum.

You're talking out of your ass as usual.

Young was up and down so many times...? When???

Ali was way past his prime when he fought Lyle...and he won that fight.

Botha was indeed winning when he got slept by one right hand.

Tyson needed speed to be an effective fighter, because he was short armed and fought in predictable patterns. He didn't need speed to be dangerous and put guys out with single punches in either hand. I'm not sold on Shavers being a more powerful puncher.

Foreman is a different matter. He didn't need to be accurate or have good timing to hurt anyone.

I never said Tyson is the biggest puncher. I am a huge Tyson fan, but he's not in my top 5 hardest punchers ever. But neither is Shavers, his punching power is vastly exaggerated. IMO he's nowhere near the top 10 all time.

Frazier was certainly known for his chin pre Foreman. Yes, when still green he had been floored by Bonavena, but since then he had taken the best from Quarry and Ramos and also everything Ali had. The reason why Frazier now is known as a bit chinny is that Foreman absolutely bulldozed him, so it's kind of circular logic to say that Foreman KO'd him because his chin wasn't all that.

Foreman also set up Frazier well for that sneaky, short and compact uppercut that first hurt him. You can read Manny Steward describe that for instance.

And by bringing up Young you do the typical Tyson fan boy thing - without a fail bringing up the weakest performance of other fighters when you'd have a fit if someone brought up Tyson's performance against Douglas to show how he lacked in skill.

Ok, so in assessing how hard it was to land on Tyson we should also use his post inactivity performances? Because Holy and Lewis sure as hell could hardly miss him and even Botha was pot shotting him before getting iced.

Can you please stop with these double standards. If you think Tyson only should be judged on the fights where Rooney was soothing his fragile psyche, you should also only judge other fighters on their very best fights. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

If you take the word of fighters seriously then you really don't have a choice when it comes to ranking shavers in the top 5. Foreman is up there and yet several people who fought both claimed shavers hit harder.

So where do you rank Foreman? Hard to have him outside the top 5.

Foreman is in my top 5.
As for those who fought both, I already explained why: Shavers put everything into his punch, other top pros didn't.

Only Joe Frazier and Ken Norton? Joe Frazier just happened to be the undefeated heavyweight champion who had cleaned out the division. Ken Norton was Foreman's size and was a fine defensive fighter.
Try something else. That post was garbage.

You think Foreman wasn't putting everything into his punches? He admitted in an interview he was a very dark person in the past and actually wanted to kill someone.

People who fought shavers also fought Cooney, Lyle, Frazier, Cooper, and Tyson himself. Bit of a stretch to think shavers was the only one who manged to put everything in his shots against those opponents.
