It looks like the surgeon operated the wrong eye.

 

Better they caught it now in the pre-fight physical then the kid goes blind mid fight. Too much money to be made with him 100% healthy.

it was a very minor surgery but they make it something to pull out of the fight....

 

Would you go into a major fight being a week and a half out from eye surgery? His eye was surgically repaired, i hope he comes back strong and ready to fight the pac vs ugas winner next.

 

Yes he should have. Biggest fight and payday of his life + chance to beat a legend and become a top draw in the sport. The clown tuck tail and found a way out of the fight. Guy is a weight bully fraud.

 

No, he would have brought that up post fight and people would have taken that as an excuse. It would have put a dark cloud over the outcome in the case pac won. Its a good think spence pulled out that way theres no excuses.

I'm intrigued that up to now, no medical professional has signed a medical document of any sort stating the kind and degree of injury that Spence has, or had.

If you ask me, the most likely scenario is they just didn't think they can beat Pac at his current (monstrous) form and Spence had sh%tty camp. They looked for someone to find the slightest injury, found it, blew it out of proportion to buy themselves time and restart camp.
That's the most impartial story I can think of.

But really, no matter how you look at it, it's a duck.
There should be a rule in boxing that pulling out of a fight this close to the scheduled event should default to a forfeited fight and Spence should lose both belts to Pac.
In other sports if you don't appear in a scheduled match, you automatically lose that match.

 

He's had a rough time over the past couple years. Hope he has a speedy and full recovery.
