That fought Floyd Mayweather, could go back in time (knowing the result of their fight) and make adjustments to get the W against Floyd? So basically they would have the knowledge they do currently, but would be going back to their conditioning/ primeness of the actual fight night. I think Canelo would be high on my list of a guy that could do just that. Cotto maybe. You'd have to make a strong argument for Castillo since it was a very close fight and he'd be going in knowing Floyd's hand was hurt. I can't definitively say one of them would do it, but it's interesting to think about.
Fat chance with both of em, Canelo being green is overstated and so is Cotto's success in the fight with Mayweather. The only fighters who really can make the adjustments and have a good chance of winning would be Oscar ( should use the jab more) and Maidana , he should try to bait Mayweather to pull counter and then counter it and then jump over to finish the job although Floyd held harder than an ex girlfriend and may foil that ala Mosley, he should also pace himself better because the second half of the fight really favored Floyd a lot in both the fights.
No way Cotto beats him he's a level below Mayweather, I believe Manny at the time of Cotto to third Marquez fight would be a hard match for Mayweather, probably beat him too.
Pacquiao doesn't have enough ring smarts to overcome the physical disparities. Mayweather always adapted, I don't think Pacquiao could cope.
An old shot to hell past it Cotto took three maybe four rounds off of Mayweather and gave him according to Floyd one of the tougher fights of his career. A young prime Cotto would have given him hell. I say that as someone who dislikes Miguel Cotto as much as I dislike Floyd Mayweather.
Cotto took three rounds if you are being generous, four is out of consideration. Many rounds were hotly contested but I don't see Cotto winning them.
I'm not sure anyone would be able to get the W even with the foreknowledge of how a first fight would play out. One of the major reasons why Mayweather was the best of his generation was because he was able to adapt mid fight and figure out whatever his opponent was doing and come up with a plan B to get the win. The guys that had the most success Castillo and Maidana had success because they pressured him made him react to what they were doing and not giving him much time to think and figure out a way to win. But you can't pressure Mayweather between rounds and he can eventually put plan together and adapt to whatever his opponent is doing.
mosley, like judah, has amazing speed early but then it evaporates, while floyd's doesn't. i don't think anyone was surprised at both of them having some early success, but then get dominated.
not a chance. cotto is a predictable plodder. floyd-cotto was at 154, floyd's limit and he lost mobility at that weight. this is why he only fought blown-up welters there, while cotto went on to win an (opportunistic) MW belt.
cotto was a gate-keeper to the big boys, nothing more. oscar lost ALL of his big fights. again, these fights were at 154, so they flattered both fighters, while both oscar and cotto went on to win a belt at MW.
If Maidana were smarter then I could definitely see him win with foreknowledge. Really wish we got to see FMJ fight ATG pressure fighters.
