Davydova is one dirty bird - she lined up a pool-cue right hand into the rear of Taysaeva-Smyslova's head while her back was turned, and the ref was just like 'nah you can't do that'. Could've been a DQ!

 

This has gotten very ugly, rough and clinch-y - all of which I think benefits Davydova. Gun to my head, she's up 48-47 entering the finale.

 

Taysaeva-Smyslova gets judo-tossed onto the mat late in the 6th, and has been getting rag-dolled and battered with hooks up & down her sides before that.

 

I was right, Davydova's physicality (regardless of the questionable legality of some of it) carried the day; she takes a UD. Not sure the scores, as I, again, don't speak any Russian.

...with that, I'm jumping ship temporarily onto the Dubai card, for the Mike Pérez fight.

 

If anybody would rather watch this next battle of unknowns on the Russian undercard and would like to know who is who,

Karen Virabovich Margaryan vs. Alisher Mukhamatolievich Ashurov, 6 rounds @ lightweight

 

Some weird movie being shown on Ren at the moment, with John Malkovich as the cowboy badguy...and Josh Brolin, presumably the protagonist, stalking him with a shotgun.

edit: just Googled, this is Jonah Hex. DC comics adaptation. Confederate officer, not cowboy.

 

2010 was peak Megan Fox.

I can't imagine there is much planned for the broadcast aside from just the main event. The prelims stream on YouTube showed almost every bout listed on BoxRec - and besides, the current local time in Moscow is 11:03pm.


edit: oh wait, forgot about the Viacheslav Datsik freakshow. They'll be showing his fight as the lead-in, but of course it wasn't listed on BoxRec as I'm fairly certain all of his boxing matches have been 'exhibitions', or at least unsanctioned. For the uninitiated: Datsik is a crazy-ass hulking Neo-Nazi (weighing 320lbs at 6'1") who used to compete in kickboxing and MMA when not in jail or living the fugitive life.

 

Denis Vildanov vs. Bruce Khlebnikov, ?? rounds @ heavyweight

 

Vildanov is an enormously obese (6'3", 485lb) pro MMA fighter with a 1-0 record in that sport.

Khlebnikov is a strongman, holding Guinness world records in that sport.

Needless to say, bit of a contrast in physiques here.

 

Hectic first round, just Vildanov wading in throwing haymakers and Khlebnikov doing his best to retreat and block.
