Why he doesn't have a few name wins in his own era then?

Maybe few reasons. His era had more titles going so the talent pool was spread out more. The K Brothers would probably have been his best opponents but that fight never happened of course.
Plus I don't think highly of that era tbh. Joe Louis reigned Supreme, only conn came close to beating him for years. I just don't see a lot of guys in the division being successful against a guy like him who could also take a shot.

Do you think that Valuev was hard to outbox? Remember, he lost two times against Chagaev and Haye - both quite small fighters who weren't amazing on their own. He also arguably lost to 46 years old Holyfield.

Do you really think that there were no better fighters in the 1930s and 1940s than 46 years old Holyfield or Chagaev?

No there were probably a good few that beat him but he'd be more successful back then. Just my opinion on it. It didn't seem to be packed with a abundants of hard guys to beat, put it that way.

Louis faced plenty of fighters that were way beyond Valuev reach. Of course he would beat some weaker challengers, but it wouldn't matter.

Valuev likely wouldn't even become a champion in the first place.

He wouldn't beat Louis that's a definite. Any one who says he can is mad. But some of the names Joe fought. Can't see Faded Schmeling lasting.
    Galento gets knocked about.
    John Henry Lewis was done.
Buddy Baer at least isn't totally dwarfed by him!

Schmeling wasn't that faded, he just faced GOAT-level HW on this night.

    Got to disagree
He only won, was it 4 more fights after that?
But yes, he was Hammered by Peak ATG that night, which can't have helped him.

Which is why it was amazing to see Usyk prove that size doesn't overcome skill by default.

A very accomplished fighter, and everything else that you said about him.

However also a fighter, who was only ever going to enjoy, a narrow window of success!
