What 12 round decisions did 70s Foreman win? LOL.

Mike showed us some up-to-that-point-in-question qualities during that second Ruddock fight...mainly, that he could not only get really hurt and come back, but he could get hurt multiple times and take the decision.

That's the comparison, smart guy. Go look at my post tell me where I said he had much better stamina.

You said he didn't have better stamina.

70's Foreman did actually win a 10 round decision over Peralta and went 12 with young (although he lost).

Post prison Tyson literally never heard the final bell, So how is their stamina comparable?

70's Foreman didn't go the distance because he was knocking people out. The only time he gassed was against Ali and that's been discussed and dissected 400x why he gassed.

Jimmy Young made Foreman see god and LOL at Peralta.

70s Foreman wasn't capable of doing what Holyfield (PEDs) did which had a lot to do with being strong later in the fight.

Lol is not an appropriate response when what you wrote was factually incorrect. Foreman won a 10 round decision, something post prison Tyson never did. If Peralta is a joke, so were the "fights" with Peter McNeely and Bruce Seldon.

I asked how Tyson's stamina was comparable and you have failed to answer after 4 replies. I guess your original claim is invalid then.

The difference between Foreman and holyfield is it wouldn't take him nearly as long to break Tyson down since he hit much harder than Holyfield and would be going to the body as well.

You're talking about a ten rounder. Tyson went 11 with Holyfield in a high intensity fight and he was concussed early, I think from a headbutt.

Post prison Tyson against 70s Foreman makes me think of Lyle--Foreman, but Tyson still had more than Lyle at that point.

Well Foreman went 12 with young in a hot outdoor environment. Tyson got stopped against Holyfield.

There is far more reason to suspect Tyson's stamina in the 90's than Foreman whose only losses were against slippery counter punchers in hot outdoor arenas. He wouldn't have that problem in a cozy air conditioned modern ring against an aggressive guy who can only fight coming forward.

Lyle was taller with a longer reach than Tyson. Also, the Foreman of the Lyle fight was rusty, coming off a loss, and had a different trainer. Anytime you bring up a Tyson fight that doesn't involve Rooney people write essays explaining how that wasn't prime Tyson, so let's be consistent here.

I sympathize with your overall argument, but I honestly Lyle was never better than against Foreman. I think the Lyle who fought Shavers would have been wiped out by Foreman much earlier...without being knocked down. Shavers knocked Lyle down but he wasn't even half the finisher Foreman was.

Please, Ali wasn't a slippery counterpuncher. He just beat Foreman's ass.

Tyson only lost to a few guys who showed good stamina for the first two decades of his career. Foreman didn't have that.

That's hard to argue with, especially in light of 70s competition, which might have been the most intense in boxing history.

Though he had great courage and could hit like a mule, Lyle's chin and stamina weren't the greatest. In a way he was like some of the alphabet champs of the 80s...he lost way too many fights he shouldn't have.

Still, I have to give it up for him for being in my eyes the toughest fight of Foreman's life. He came so close to stopping him, at several points during their fight. Not many fighters could say that...if any.

Ali wasn't a counter puncher? Ali wasn't slippery or elusive he just "beat his ass"...?
