What happens in sparring should stay in sparring.
His sparring partner shouldn't have said anything about sparring especially if he was getting paid.

Sparring partners stories might be cos they just do have intent to rise attention to their person like " I had sparred with ".
Maybe inside smart sneaky work from camp.
To rise their value.
Maybe to earn clicks.


I might compare with some experience from my life with boxers not mentioned here : guy X had sparred with lad Y and lad A, these are champs in weight class above lad X weight class.
Question: you had sparred with? Lad X: yes. He toled nothing more than this.
Question to Y and A about this sparring. Were you able to get him down? They told NO, never. Was he good? Yeah.
Nothing more.

Now is modern era.
I for example might tell that I had sparred with lad No ZX without telling that this was fast paced light sparring, with lad No QQ without telling that this was hard clinch drill and sparring not full fight etc. That lad YY ( who was considerably smaller than I ) had run from me. It does not matters per se.
Clicks and like this are money.

True, but the forum has a loose and fluid definition of "proof".

This forum took Povetkin's management team putting out a statement re: covid as evidence as well as "struggled to get up the steps at the weigh in". Laughable.

However, there doesn't seem to be any proof that Spence genuinely suffered such an injury and subsequent surgery. A photo of him wearing an eye patch is not evidence. There might be something out there, but I haven't seen it.

 

Van Heerden was sparring Spence? Is this confirmed? I’m trying to avoid looking for it.
