Eh, he ran away at 37. Wlad fought prime beast Joshua at 41 and gave him hell. Lewis did get destroyed you are correct on that, by relative nobodies McCall and Rahman.

 

All that shows is that everybody ages different. Mike Tyson was a monster in his prime but was shot to bits before 37 while Vitali easily beat Derek Chisora at 40. Also Rahman beat Corrie Sanders did he not ? He was a world class fighter and Mccall did beat Holmes albiet an over the hill Holmes. Both are definitely better than Ross Purity and Lamon Brewster

Excuses ? He beat Vitali and the rematch wasn't contractually obligated. And Rahman knocked down Sanders twice and was ahead on my card anyway.

 

When Lewis fought Vitali in 2003, Ray Mercer hadn't fought in a year since being destroyed by Wlad Klitschko inside six rounds. And, in 2003, Evander Holyfield (coming off a loss to Byrd in 2002) was stopped by James Toney.

So, I imagine Lennox Lewis would've had a much easier night if either Evander Holyfield or Ray Mercer showed up in 2003 instead of a prime Vitali Klitschko.

 

Im talking about the Ray Mercer and Holyfield from the 90s, the ones that Lewis fought, not the shot ones
