its gamesmanship i guess. I dont believe we can knock teo for loma's inactivity. imo regardless if the fight should be scored per round or as a whole, they were equal coming in to the 12th. And teo left no doubt on who won that 12th and final round. I think its why its such a great fight, contrasting tactics and philosophies, but both of em had to throw that out the window come the final round.

Being in a ringside seat at Madison Square Gardens to see Hamed v Kelley in December 1997 is my most memorable occasion from being at a live fight. On TV it was a toss up between a few...Leonards comeback fight against Hagler, Benn v Mclellan and Lewis v Tyson

I wonder how many people missed it. I had gotten up to pee because I wanted to rush back to hear the corners.

For me there's three. I'm English and all three have a UK bias to them though, so trigger warning.

Benn - McClellan I was about 12, and this was one of the last really big fights to be shown on free-to-air television. We all know what happened, and the horrible, strange ending to the fight. But until then it was complete drama - McClellan was utterly vicious. How Benn kept going is beyond me, and it was a truly spectacular comeback.

Because we didn't have pay TV in those days, this was the last fight I watched live for a long time, which adds to the unforgettableness.

It was boxing at its very best, but also its most difficult to understand, especially as a 12 year old. I've never watched it back, and never will.

And two more recent, already covered in this thread:

Fury-Wilder 1 - just the drama of rounds 9-12 and Fury's rise from the ashes.

Whyte-Povetkin 1 - Made even sweeter by the Sky Sports commentary on the evening, which went something along the lines of "the once really great Alexander Povetkin, he's very slow now...... ZOMFG WHAT A PUNCH WHYTE IS CLEAN OUT".

Sitting ringside for GGG US debute was pretty cool. Marquez KOing PacMan was unreal as well. Corrales come from behind stoppage of Castillo was special. But I think for me, Gatti Ward 1 is up there

The best Boxing moment , that I saw live , was when part time Golfer "Corrie Sanders"
knocked out the completely overrated W. Klitschko in only 2 Rounds with ease
and gave V. Klitschko in his prime the fight of his life at age of 38.

I've been following boxing since 2000 but of course have checked all the classics.

Most Ruslan Provodnikov fights, that man just fought the style everyone wanted at least one guy to bring to a fight. He brought it pretty much every time and not a single guy handled his truly relentless pressure with much ease.
