I couldn’t care less about fundamentals. It’s how they’d have matched up stylistically. What has GG ever done in his career, for you or anyone else to have favoured him over a 25 year old Roy Jones?
Roy had no chin, Clen is caving his opponent's faces in and detaching their biceps with single shots since he went on a PED regime similar to Roy's. What do you think would happen to that old lady chin if Clen 2.0 detonated one of his clenbuterol bombs from hell on it? You do the math. This content is protected This content is protected I despise the Ginger Snake Demon and I'd be rooting for Roy in this hypothetical match up but it would highly unethical of me to ignore the overwhelming amount of scientific data when it leans so heavily to a brutal KO win for Clenelo.
Since most of this forum picked ggg to stop Canelo and Jacobs I thought you were there in the same boat? Anyways this forum has been wrong about Canelo almost his hole carrer, Since Canelo was supposed to ducked Trout, Lara Cotto and GGG, to ducking Jacobs, Kova Smith Saunders, Just a heads up
Canelo`s handspeed is as quick as Griffin`s was, he`s an amazingly quick counter puncher and his reach is 70.5 inches, Jones couldn`t out-jab Griffin who only had a 70 inch reach.
Right. So you’re making a prediction based on the fact that Canelo was of a similar size to a guy who caused Roy issues at a higher weight? You don’t think that there’s any other factors to consider??
Canelo is naturally smaller than Jones started his career at 140 lbs. Jones overwhelms him, just too big and too strong and just as quicker
I may be in the minority on this, but I think Griffin would be more difficult than Jones for Canelo. One of Canelo's greatest strengths is seek and destroy. Lets not forget RJJ was chinny. In his prime, Lou Del Valle caught him and knocked him down. If Lou Del Valle could knock Prime Roy down, imagine what Canelo could do. Now don't get me wrong, RJJ at 175 would be a handful for Canelo. Canelo is best at 168, RJJ was a beast at 168 as well, the handspeed and quickness was otherworldly, but Canelo has the patience, power and hand speed to deal with RJJ. RJJ in his prime wasn't a volume puncher, he would explode out of nowhee with lightning fast combinations, but in many of his fights he would start slow and take his time. So RJJ was patient early on, similar to Canelo in that regard. RJJ's game wasn't to engage in a toe to toe war, it was to be elusive, frustrate you, then explode with big punches out of nowhere. Canelo has a much better chin than RJJ, RJJ could explode on Canelo but Canelo wouldn't go down. Canelo wouldn't get discouraged either, he would take RJJ into deep waters and possibly time him perfectly like he did Amir Khan and knock him down like Lou Del Valle did. And with the kind of power that Canelo possesses, Roy ain't getting up. Canelo would be the aggressor against RJJ, trying to walk him down, trapping him on the ropes, I could see RJJ walking into a well placed body shot trying to avoid getting trapped on the ropes. All that said, I would still have to favor RJJ at 175. RJJ is much bigger at that weight, Canelo was visibly slower at 175 when he fought Kovalev, that wouldn't help him vs RJJ. He needs the speed he has at 168 to have a chance vs Roy at any weight. If they fought at 168, you know SMW RJJ before he moved up to 175, vs Current Canelo, that's a hell of a fight. I think Canelo could drop RJJ, and I doubt RJJ could drop Canelo. As far as who would win rounds, both would be cautious I think, a lot of toss-up rounds. The head movement from Canelo would dare I say make RJJ miss some of his explosive power shots. Roy never had someone in front of him that could make him miss punches to the extent that Canelo could. And RJJ would have to respect Canelo's power. That's just how I see it. Feel free to disagree and tell me RJJ would destroy him.
If Canelo had an OnlyFans account, some guys on here would have signed up to the $100 monthly service......
