It was difficult to separate the idea of favorite fighters from boxers I admire (Salvador Sanchez, Wladimir Klitschko) and fighters who produced enjoyable, entertaining fights (Greg Haugen, Arturo Gatti). I also couldn't pick an old time boxer I had not seen fight on something other than a Youtube video. For me, favorite came down to those fighters who, when I think of them now, produce a happy memory and a desire to see them fight again.

It occurred to me that if I had to just list 10, I probably would have made a different top 10 (since I would want to include different eras and rivalries, etc).

Honestly I'm gonna keep my list the way it is. Thanks for doing the survey Rummy. I think it would be fun if you showed your own list at the end of the video or maybe a separate video if you're worried about the survey video being too long.

@salsanchezfan @McGrain You are both officially accounted for in the spreadsheet. Should you make any changes, please just post a message stating such. But generally speaking, those who've already submitted lists - I'm hoping you all finish those up ASAP, please. And if you can think of any other Classic posters you think may be interested to participate in this exercise, tagging them here would be fantastic. Thanks everyone!

@Quick Cash @TipNom @lookatcurryman You 3 are accounted for in the spreadsheet. 5 names have been logged thus far. 117 unique boxers, and just 1 name appearing on all 5 (Kid Gavilan).
OK, gonna give this a go. Remember, to the letter of the law, this is not whom I feel may be the greatest, but the fighters - for whatever reason - who really blew my hair back. The fighters that made me anxious when a fight of theirs was coming up or I was enamored reading about. Here we go. 1) Armando Muniz 2) Muhammad Ali 3) Rodolfo 'El Gato' Gonzalez (the lightweight champ) 4) Ruben Olivares 5) Victor Galindez 6) Bobby Chacon 7) Ray 'Windmill' White 8) Gaby Canizales 9) Lorenzo 'Halimi' Gutierrez 10) Antonio Cervantes 11) Venice Borkorsor 12) Jesus Pimental 13) Vito Antuofermo 14) Oscar Bonavena 15) Bennie Briscoe 16) Jerry Quarry 17) Gerry Cooney 18) Ken Buchanan 19) Alexis Arguello 20) Rafael Herrera 21) Chucho Castillo 22) Jack Sharkey 23) Barry McGuigan 24) Art Hafey 25) Jose Medel 26) Carmen Basilio 27) Hector Thompson 28) Dave 'Boy' Green 29) Gil Turner 30) Cornelius Boza Edwards 31) Mando Ramos 32) Carlos Zarate 33) Roberto Duran 34) Ayub Kalule 35) Chango Carmona At first I thought this was going to be daunting until I realized I had gone to 50 and had to leave the last 15 on the cutting room floor. Thanks, @Rumsfeld I really like a subject matter that makes you think.
