What if Tyson Fury retires after beating Wilder

Do you expect him to turn back time and fight him earlier? Still a good win considering the shape he came in against AJ.

 

No but whats done is done. The Wlad win was very impressive but Wlad was still past it and then his next best win is overrated Wilder and after that it's gatekeeper Chisora. His resume is somewhat thin with one elite win. That kind of resume is on par with Riddicks Bowes.

 

Yep, Fury needs some good wins. If he could beat AJ, Usyk and some other top 10 fighters he will be top 15-20.

 

If he beats Aj, Usyk and some other top fighters that might put him in the top 10 and also makes him a H2H nightmare

 

The only issue is that he is already 33 and he doesn't have many years left at the top.

 

Fury only has 1 or 2 good fights left. You can’t abuse your body the way he has and have any longevity on the back end.

He was older yes, but still a reigning champ with 4 of the major belts that dominated the division for a decade. No other current heavyweight has done that. On top of that Fury dethroned arguably the hardest hitting heavyweight in recent history (who also was undefeated with a near perfect KO record) after a couple of years off and fighting two bums.

People go on about AJs resume, but at the end of the day he hasn't achieved what Fury has.

 

I'm seeing little evidence of it...

I can assure you Chisora does have a decent chance of knocking out Ortiz, and his pressure style is something that Ortiz would find difficult to deal with. Watch some of Ortiz fights back and you'll see glimpses of this, when he's allowed to set the pace he looks good but when someone takes the aggression to him he's not nearly as comfortable - then ratchet up the competition a level from anyone Ortiz has ever beaten and you'll see where I'm coming from.

If Chisora could be competitive with a far more skilled boxer in Usyk, then the idea that he "ain't outpointing" a gatekeeper level fighter Ortiz is rather OTT.

I would think Chisora would win 6/10, maybe 7/10 against Ortiz.


And Fury is not "my boy" - he's probably the best there is at the moment, but that's not saying a huge amount.

 

If Dillon’s Whyte was still fighting the likes of Jason gavern 30odd fights into his career then he could also be labelled as the “hardest hitting heavyweight in history” etc.

It’s easy to have a good KO record when you’re defending your title against the likes of Arthur Szpillka and Gerald Washington.

 

Chisora is a limited plodder but there’s no way Ortiz beats him 10/10 times.

No you’re wrong Wilder is an all time great victory. Who else but Fury would be able to manage to beat the man who slayed the feared Artur Szpillka.
