Ugas 8-4. Did not see the second half of the fight as all that competitive. I never wanted Pac to fight Spence and last night showed why. He would get decimated in his current form. He should retire and enjoy his immense legacy.
Ugas won. It was tough to score some rounds, and many were close but Ugas landed the cleaner more effective punches. Manny's feet and timing were not there to get him in the right distance. He threw a lot of flurries at Ugas guard. The punches that did land were at the end of the punch so they were not as effective as we are used to seeing from the Pacman. Conversely, Ugas was landing rights that were visibly moving Pac. At 42, Pac did not have the foot speed and stamina to overwhelm the bigger man. I really wanted Pac to win. I though he would win. He put up a good showing, but it wasn't a winning night for him.
I knew this was a bad matchup for Pac, but cant knock him for taking it. He's an aged warrior, but tbh Spence would have whooped his ass worse!
Ugas landed more and better shots. Simple as. The judges scores were fine. Spence from the DG fight would have won by late stoppage. Crawford? Not so late. Young Ortiz as well. Manny no longer has the frenetic energy required by his style nor the stamina. Happens to everybody. Props to Pacman for an ATG career.
Ugas to his his credit fought the right fight. He was responsible defensively, used his length and strong counter punching to keep PAC neutralized. Credit to Manny he never stopped trying though.
