I don't know where I'd put Pacquiao as an ATG, but I do know I would FOR SURE put SRR, SRL, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, and Armstrong above him.
Oh, and just so we're clear, Leonard has a better resume than Pacquiao, and it's not particularly close. Hearns alone sh*ts on any of Pacquiao's wins.
I'd argue RJJ ranks higher than Pacquiao. Roy has better individual wins in Hopkins and Toney, dominated everyone he fought in his prime, and won titles from MW all the way to HW.
No he can't. He doesn't have the wins over elite ATG comp to do it. He's not going to beat another elite ATG so no he won't.
Nah. Loma wouldnt get any credit for beating Thurman if he isnt an active fighter in 2-3 years. Just as you dont give certain fighters credit, and down play short camps yada yada. Now you see that its both fighters who have to make adjustments on short notice fights and that 6 weeks is essentially a full training camp especially if both fighters are in the gym training for a fight.
Only way that could have even been considered was if he was to beat Ugas, and then beat Spence and Crawford.
Who did Pac beat to win those 8 world titles that are on the Elite level historically than Duran, Hearns and Hagler? 8 divisional titles is impressive, but when you get judged as a whole, its the quality of wins that you have that sets you apart. Pac as quantity, Leonard had the better Quality wins.
He beat JMM in the series. That boy Floyd ran like a cheap thief. Accomplishments. No one comes close to Pac in his era.
Those are facts! Do we rate fighters by the wins and loses with quality opposition or not? A win over a elite ATG fighter counts more and is better than a win over a ATG fighter. A win over a ATG fighter is better than a win over a good fighter. A loss against a elite ATG fighter is not as bad as a loss against a ATG fighter. A loss against a ATG fighter is not as bad as a loss against a good or bum level fighter.
