What does everyone think of Huni's plan to have a pro fight possibly against Fa, then compete at the commonwealth games next year, with the aim of Paris in 2024?

I think that Huni's style is better suited to the amatuers. I also believe like most Queenslanders that he has a glass jaw and I wouldn't be surprised if Fa sparked him out.

Speaking of glass jawed Queenslanders... I wonder what Partyboy has been up to lately?

LOL just being realistic he doesn't have much power his stoppages are from accumulation late in the fight. He has great skills and speed and will be the best in Australia but he seems a bit fragile for the top level and not having power I could see tough gate keepers like Derek Chisora just walking through his shoe shine shots and sparking him.

LOL after all his big talk about being a awesome punter and a stand up guy he once again let his emotions get the better of him and wrote a check his ass couldn't cash and lost a bet to @f1ght3rz . He obviously can't afford to pay up and like a coward has not shown his face around here since. @DONT B SCARED where are you Party Boy I thought that you were cool with everybody on here? A man honours his debts.

Maybe he could do that but hey why not have a pro fight next then another 3-4 Pro fights post common wealth tilt just to keep in trim before an Olympic shot ? This bloke is already a pro in my eyes just leave the vest behind mate and get on with a potential decent paid career .

I think the young bloke should do what he wants to do. You're only young once.

The next Olympics is only three years away & he will get to fight in a big tournament every year between now & then. Huge boost for our amateur program if he stays in it, along with Harry, Paulo Aukuso & those two lady boxers who both made the final at the last Commonwealth games. With an Olympics under their belts this year, they'll be all the better for it.

To me there's something honourable about competing for your country in a (in theory) level playing field amateur program as opposed to fighting professionally in the paid ranks.

There's no guarantees whichever way he goes. I remember Spike Cheney staying in the amateurs b/c he wanted to go to the next Olympics & win gold instead of silver. They even brought the Russian Olympic gold medalist who beat him in the final in 1988 out here for him to fight to prove he was now the best & he beat him. Unfortunately, he began having trouble beating other blokes domestically & ended up turning pro coming off bad amateur results & that fed into his early pro career which never took off.

Personally, I see Huni doing great in the Commonwealth games next year (if he's fit & healthy). He'll win a medal for sure & maybe gold. Then it's onto another World (Amateur?) Championships in 2023 (where he'll get the chance to improve on his bronze from 2019) & Paris in 2024.

Huni will turn 25 in 2024. Jalolov was 27 when he won Olympic gold this month. Winning Olympic gold is the holy grail of Australian boxing b/c no-one's ever done it. Good on the young bloke for going after the holy grail if that's what he wants to do. I wouldn't advise pursuing it if that's all there was out there for him but with a Commonwealth games & another World Championships on offer, I reckon go for it.

I disagree Sandy , you're either an Am or Pro you can't have your penny & a bun mate , to tell the truth I was a wee bit gutted for the young man getting a serious enough injury to keep him out of a tournament he'd been working on getting to since the age of 8 years old but sometimes these things happen for a reason , we know the Olympic Gold is the holy grail but this bloke is already beating up double figure unbeaten Pros aged only what 24 ? He's been a Pro for a while now and imo ( just my two bobs worth) should stay Pro and fight guys like Dubois , Joyce if it's Commonwealth honours he's after , it'd be great to see an Aussie use the Commonwealth route for a change , from what I've seen of him he's already up there or there abouts .

Hello everyone. Haven't been following boxing these last few years. Joshua-Usyk is coming up soon. What are your predictions/thoughts on this fight ? I will watch this fight.

Great to see you back mate. Your knowledge has been sorely missed.

    Joshua very likely by stoppage.

I really like Usyk. I've been following him since before the 2012 Olympics. He is a character and gives a good combination of skill and action.

But I can't see where he beats AJ. Any close decision won't be going Usyk's way, he will have to really dominate to get the decision.

Starting to look like it J dubya.

But ill believe it when they are in the ring together!!

Whats a debacle it has been. I think it suits GKJ better. He still looks focused and hungry. Plus Teo is coming back from Covid.

    Welcome Back Francis ,
WAR .....I must admit I'm looking forward to the Teo v Georgie scrap & a scrap the Young Greek needs to make it ,I like his self confidence but as we all know IF he don't close the distance and brawl Teo he's in for a tough night of it. .
