Which featherweights thoughout (any decade) could have beaten Arguello at 130?

Could any featherweight have moved up and beaten Arguello at his best at 130 in a hypothetical fantasy fight?

 

Could they beat him at Featherweight considering he was Champion there?

 

It`s a more interesting question and may not have been asked before.

 

Well, he was better at 130 than at 126.

It's hard to say with fighters like Vicente Saldivar and Sal Sanchez as they never moved up that extra few pounds so we don't know how that would have affected their performances.

A prime Pep would give Arguello problems with his movement but then a prime Pep lost to Sammy Angott when he weighed barely over 130 pounds. That doesn't sound promising.

Sandy Saddler was a Featherweight and Super Featherweight champ and had the physical presence to cause Arguello problems but I still wouldn't necessarily pick him to win.

Other than Floyd Mayweather, I probably wouldn't pick any super featherweight to beat Arguello either and even then I wouldn't definitely pick Floyd, but think he has the best chance of beating Alexis at the weight.

Honestly, I think most featherweights in history would struggle to beat super featherweight Arguello.

 

Same at Featherweight. Only Marcel whose style always bothered Al. Sanchez I think could.

 

Hank would be interesting.

 

I really like Macho Camacho at that weight to win a decision. A fasirly wide decision as well. He'll turn Alexis all night and will not trade and leave any opportunites for Arguello to capitalize on.

Hitting a moving target like Hector is going to be very difficult. and in the meantime, Camacho is throwing those fast flurries of his while moving his feet. And the judges just love the guys that do that.

 

He'd be a handful for sure but never fought at featherweight.

 

Mayweather and maybe Lomachenko.

Camacho never beat an opponents as good as Alexis and looked really bad v Rosario even though that was at 135.

 

Floyd only fought as a feather in the amateurs.
