If he gets up after 3 mins, the bell rings to end the round if he gets up and is ready to continue?

I was asking if a fighter gets kd'd with 5 secs left and gets up at 8 secs (i.e., meaning after the 3 min. the round lasts), the ref checks if he's ready to continue then says box on and the bell is sounded instantly. I got my answer though. Just checked Pac Hatton and yes, that's what happens.

Yeah I knew that. It was more about the technicality of when does the bell sound when those last second knockdowns happened.

If he gets up and is able to continue he should be good to go.

Actually, you can't be saved by the bell in the 12th round Drenlou either (maybe in the past you could, not sure). But again, it was just a question about the bell sound.

Here's a question, should a referee be waving off a fight, if the round has ended and the fighter beats his 10 count?

See the below: Wilder Ortiz 2, Ortiz is up 6 rounds to 0, he also looks to be winning the 7th quite handily. Then BOOM, Ortiz is down with 6 seconds on the clock. The "crab in the bucket" referee gives him a 9 count, and then waves it off as he gets to his feet.

What do people think about such a stoppage? Should Ortiz have been given the full 10 count? Should he have been allowed to come out for the 8th? Like Wilder was in the first fight?

I've always found this a grey area. Take this compared to the Watson kd at the end of the 11th. Watson, clearly out of it and unable to defend himself is all but carried to the corner and sat down, then allowed to box on in the 12th despite being unable to walk to the centre of the ring without assistance. If Ortiz was given the same treatment, how might be have faired?
Needs clarification but unlikely since it happens so rarely.

Yeah, I think waving that one off when Watson was still staggering before the 12th started would have been justified, but I imagine the crowd would have gone mental. Bit sad how it ended like, but finally he got his life back. Small blessings

Should have been waved off at the end of the 11th imo. The ref allowed his handlers to steal him away before he could get a good assessment of Watson's state. If Eubank delivered a blow which rendered Watson unable to defend himself properly after a 10 second count, Eubank should be awarded a KO. It should make no difference whether the 3 mins is up or not but I totally agree that the crowd would want to give him the break to recover.
That's cheating though imo and his cornermen knew it so they, instead of letting the referee assess the condition and safety of their fighter and possibly stop the fight, hustled him back to the corner and shoved Watson back out with scant regard for his well-being. I understand Watson would have protested, as would the crowd, but between the ref and his cornermen, that 12th round shouldn't have happened.
