    Doesn't matter. Fighters outside of their prime can be better than others who are in their prime.

    The Povetkin that AJ beat was still better than anyone else AJ beat or anyone Fury has beat besides Wlad.

    A better question is; how many fighters in their prime have turned down a unification fight from AJ? Fury, Wilder, Ortiz, Whyte, Hughie Fury, the list goes on. These guys all turned down life changing money and unification fights, to go and fight bums for less money. That tells me all I need to know

    Parker, Ruiz, maybe Whyte. Not a lot. He's mostly fought old men. That being said Povetkin may have been past it but even at that stage he definitely would have beaten all of Wilder's opponents and even all of Fury's too except Wladimir Klitschko

    Stiverne (24-1-1), Molina (23-2), Duhaupas (32-2), Szpilka (20-1), Washington (18-0-1), Breazeale (20-1), Fury (27-0), Fury coming up 30-0-1.

    Luis Ortiz (28-0) in fight one was better than Povetkin AND USYK NOW.

    Chris Arreola (36-4-1) was probably better five years ago when Wilder fought him than Andy Ruiz is now.

    So, 10.

    If you want to throw in Malik Scott (who was 36-1-1 and coming off a draw with top conteder Czar Glazkov and a loss to Chisora), that's 11.

    He also fought Fury when he was a prime 29-0-1 (but didn't win). So, 12.

    Modern heavyweights barely have a prime. They pick up boxing in their 20s and fight once or twice a year against cans. By the time they rack up the experience to be a contender, they are in their mid to late 30's.
