Even though you're probably just doing it to feed the beast that this thread has become, the smileys remain appreciated.

This thread is like the Classic forum's favorite bar. Patrons come in, talk, and occasionally watch the Bowe/Carnera fight playing on the bar's TV.

That most certainly works on a resume level but H2H is a different matter of course. a motivated Page would be a big mountain for Marciano to climb.

Ah. Sort of a Boxing Beast Bar as opposed to a Dull Sports Bar. Can I get a whiskey sour in here?

We might still have stocks of the 1912 absinthe left over from the Johnson/Flynn afterparty. It's in the back somewhere if you want to wait around...

I am not saying that he wouldn't be, but Marciano was obviously a much more successful fighter. Now if all that you had was footage of them, would you not conclude that Page was probably the superior fighter?

Page could well be "the superior fighter". Maybe you mixed up your choice of wording and meant successful (career wise)

What I am trying to say, is that how good a fighter looks on film, is not always a reliable indicator of how successful they will be, or how they will fare against others head to head.

There are certainly a lot of factors.
