He's a beast who comes forward with great power, the ODLH decision really soured my memory of him though. I've had Trinidad vs Vargas on in the background, what a fight that was!
Was supposed to happen in 98/99 but got scrapped (injury to Trinidad maybe?). Would of been a great fight! I'll have to dig it up, there was a either KO or Ring magazine article interviewing Oba Carr who fought both and gave his insight into this potential matchup
Love that two-fisted power of his, Crawford, Spence, Ugas, Manny and the rest of the current crop at 147 get euthanized so to speak by that biblical left hook from hell of his. This content is protected
great puncher, beautiful left. very mechanical and a bit predictable. could be outboxed. i would put him at about spence level. spence is a better boxer, but tito has size and power to even up the package.
Trinidad was very good, people talk about his left because it could decapitate you but his right was deadly as well. Suffered from flash knockdowns but recovered well from them. Won his first title very young destroying seasoned Maurice Blocker. He was legit, would bury almost all of the guys at 147 now, but who are we kidding, no way most of them would sign on to fight Trinidad.
