Well to be fair this era truly does suck, when a shot Arreola gave Ruiz problems, Parker gets a controversial decision against a shopworn Chisora and Whyte gets sparked out by a 41 year old Povetkin you tend to question the quality of this current crop. You even had a 41 year old inactive Wladimir give Joshua hell and had he stepped on the gas, he probably would have stopped him. A guy like prime Tim Witherspoon or even prime Samuel Peter would probably tear through the division today and only loose to the top 2(Fury and Joshua) I would legit favor Holyfield in his early and mid 40s to be a top 10 today.

It's just not a good era.

In my view AJ is the best of this time his era but irrespective of what we all individually think we shall hopefully find out soon who is King Kong if this era, the true King of 7 Kingdoms etc.

Terrible Tim Witherspoon was a quality fighter who would be to skilled for the guys in this era. Samuel Peter would have a genuine punchers chance against Fury and AJ.

I would give peter far more than a punchers chance against Fury and Joshua.

Even Basic guys like glass chin Tommy Morrison would likely be top 5 today due to the sheer power he packed in his left hooks and he could box like he did against Foreman. I wouldn't even leave out the idea of Valuev being top 10 today. I took it that far

It's just not a good era. It's somewhat lacking in talent and it's not very stacked.

aj is a solid hw. throws a variety of punches well. has adequate defense. no major flaws or weaknesses.
he is not a great fighter, there is a good level above him. but he is the most complete hw in boxing today and i favor him to beat everyone in a position to challenge him right now.

Funny to hear people say things like "X lost to Y" and "Z lost to X" so this era is bad. Such odd logic.

These same clowns idolise Wladimir Klitschko who got sparked several times against mediocre opponents and never beat anybody at the highest level.

The most complete heavyweight in boxing today and is favoured to beat everybody put in front of him but got sparked by Andy Ruiz Pudding Jr.

    That's so funny.

Trying to score different punches 'out of 10'. This is just low brow content.

I often make a similar argument to those who want to reduce Foreman to just a wild swinging brawler with monstrous power, but that doesn't take away from the fact that his whole style was developed around putting himself in the best position to land huge shots on his opponents. Take his power away and all you really have is a kind of awkward wrestler, throwing and pushing his opponents around but not actually doing any damage to them. Needless to say, that would drastically have impacted his performances.

    It's clear who's the fanboy.

How does the most complete boxer in the heavyweight division get battered from pillar to post, and eventually made to give up, by an obese midget who couldn't even wobble the ghost of Liakhovich?

Wlad did get KO'd multiple times early in his career but he significantly improved over time under Steward and then dominated the entire division for a decade easily albiet a lackluster one.
