Should DB stay at 168 and hope he can get that Canelo fight?

Or should he gamble, and move to 175, try and pick up a belt, and hope Canelo tries to go undisputed at LHW?

The #1 fight I'd like to see outside of AJ V Fury would be Canelo V DB for true undisputed at 168. But I have a sneaky feeling Canelo is gonna shift weight after the plant fight.

I'm surprised there isn't more hype for a DB V CA fight!

I actually think Canelo matches up well with Benavidez and is an easier fight for him over Bivol and Beterbiev.

Benavidez is good but he seems a bit careless and it's because he hasn't fought anyone who can hit back hard enough to make him pay. He just uses his strength to bully his opponents with shots but he's fought no one who can throw good combos and time him well.

Size, speed, and volume vs IQ, power, and counters.

IMO DB is the 2nd best boxer at 168.

Benavidez needs to fight someone who can fight smart , all he's been doing right now is bullying his opponents with his size and strength , he's a good talent but he's been matched up with tough plodders to polish his skills until now.

I am maximally hyped for this fight.

I have been saying to beat Canelo you need to have something he can't just walk through all night. DB isn't a single punch guy but he's got great reach and fast combinations that do carry spite, he's a real risk for anyone at 168/175.

Unfortunately it is still early days for him and with his missteps his development is stalling. Losing to Canelo would be exactly what he needs to see where the next level is, and winning would set up a new star with an amazing rivalry.

Canelo fight or no, he should try to make 168 while he can unless there is a really great offer at 175.

DB should fight wherever he feels most comfortable.

At SMW that's trying to force a mandatory shot.

At LHW that's probably Joe Smith Jr.

If Smith Jr. isn't too affected by the wars he had, he'll outmuscle Benavidez at 175 and knock him out.

If Benavidez does that it'll be his best victory to date.
