How does this play out? Let's say this happens in 90/early 91.

    Whoever wins, it's on points.
Tucker has good movement and mobility, and is skilled enough to pull it of. But he was past his best in 90/91. But it helps his case that at this point in time, Holyfield was just at the beginning of his steroid use, so he wasn't so big.
I'm still leaning towards Holyfield on points though.

Tucker wouldn't even pull it off in the 80s.

I think he stands a great chance there. Holyfield was smaller then.

If it’s in the early 90’s like you say then Tucker was past it and holy was peaking. One sided decision for Holyfield.

One thing that gives me pause for this fight is that Holyfield had some trouble with ancient Holmes. I wonder if a not yet used up Tucker (would of been about 32 at this time) who is a pretty decent boxer with height and a reach advantage could maybe give Evander some problems.

Not saying Tucker wins, just it might be closer than some think.

Tony's best chance is in 87... not sure if Evander is a heavy at that time or not by memory... but after Tucker got his cash from Tyson.. he drifted into another lifestyle... Holy is the better fighter overall but dont think he is ever going to KO Tucker

87 Evander was still unifying cruiser titles, stepped up to heavy in 88

Evander would have difficulties...Tucker was difficult, but Evander still gets a workman decision here.

This. In the mid 80’s before Tucker destroyed himself with drugs he definitely had a chance, since he had an excellent chin and power. Also, Holyfield had a bad habit against his better judgment of trying to fight big guys like Bowe and Formeman head on, which I can see ending very badly against a prime Tucker.

At the time period you mention, Evander wins a unanimous decision. But if Tony had developed, Evander has no chance. Tucker had that type of talent.

Tucker was pretty damn good at his best in the 80's. Factor in his height, solid chin and physical advantages and he'd be hell for Holyfield. But 1990/91 TNT started fading quite a bit. I'd take Holyfield in 1991 but a prime for prime battle would be interesting...
