Anthony Joshua vs Oleksander Usyk - Discussion thread

What if AJ unloads every punch he has on Usyk in round 1? Hit him in everywhere. Usyk won't be able to take it, just like he couldn't against Chisora.

It might be good night for Usyk in round 1.

I disagree. He unloaded it on Klitschko in round 5 and knocked him down. He will definitely do the same to Usyk before round 4.

 

I still disagree. Wlad dropped heavy bombs on Joshua after being knocked down and hurt him. Usyk can't hit as hard as Wlad, and Usyk won't be able to get up after AJ knocks him down for the first time. Because Usyk is weaker than Wlad. Usyk is a cruiserweight, AJ can even throw him out of the ring by a big right.

Chisora really had won 3 first rounds in row and sorry, Usyk appeared be able to bear all punches he had landed on him.
LOL, and some ppl are crying that this fight had won Chisora.
While sorry, Usyk is better than Parker without 1 doubt.

Joshua TKO. Joshua can fight like he did against Ruiz 2 and I see very little Usyk can do to win.

 

As a fan if Usyk and a not so big fan of Joshua..

I see Joshua getting this by decision.

I am simply a fan of Usyk because of what he did at CW, moving up, and having the look of a icd cold serial killer. HOWEVER I really don't see anything special about him as much as a lot of people on these boards do... i legit think he is just an above average HW. I just don't see the 'it' factor with Usyk at this weight.

Joshua after the Ruiz loss, I believe is a lot more cautious. I don't think we'll ever see Joshua knock anyone spark out again unless the openings are REALLY there after he has the opponent hurt. His mental game is shattered and won't go on the offensive as much anymore. Much more timid.

I give the nod to Joshua, in a close but not razor close fight, 116-112.

Usyk will win by mentally destroying and picking apart AJ. Boxing IQ will bring down the mentally weak bodybuilder and from then onwards will leave that chinny chin chin open for some brutal southpaw punches.

 

Joshua a journeyman?
Those who have jumped on the Usyk hypetrain better hope it doesn't get derailed.

 

Even Chisora is not a journeyman. Chisora had British title and Commonwealth title and he is just failed cotender for World title who had lost fights vs top 10 type boxers. Chisora is gatekeeper type boxer. Chisora even might had been 1-1 vs Whyte and 1-0 vs Helenius with different judges.
