My Dad is a bit of a boxing fan but doesn't have social media, just sees fights advertised on Sky/BT when he's watching football or announced on Sky Sports News... he responded 'what's DAZN?' when I told him Warrington was fighting on there at the weekend.

With some of these Rikapore, Brad Rea types opting for Sky. These are lads that could have been in good scraps on DAZN cards as 3rd fight on etc. Really worry what depth DAZN can offer.

Especially with Eddie sending off loads of his lads to fight in Austria, Spain and Jtaly

Who’s to say they opted for Sky though? Eddie might not have fancied them.

Surely he needs numbers to build cards? Not necessarily future world champions but people to put in decent domestic/Euro fights

Another reason Hearn’s takeover of the USA has failed when he’s filling undercards full of British prospects the Americans won’t have heard of.

Matchroom left Sky for DAZN as they were given more money to put on shows and could own the production. Seems like a good choice in theory.
However DAZN have put the price up from £1.99 to £7.99 - that is too steep an increase and people will now unsubscribe. So while Matchroom own the production and have more money, they will have less exposure than being on Sky. I suspect over time that will impact them, and fighters themselves need to work out if they want less money/more exposure on Sky (though more exposure can make more money outside the ring!)
DAZN cannot rely on Matchroom only to justify the £6 increase. There needs to be at least a fight night a week, maybe 2 for £7.99 to be worthwhile. GBP don't do enough at present, especially as its early morning over here!
FightZone is £4.99 and while the quality is better at DAZN the quantity is better on FightZone.
£4.99 would have been an acceptable price and I'm a little shocked that its as much at £7.99.

Matchroom had the UK market by the balls.

They have totally taken themselves down a peg or two.

The market is fractured further and cards spread thinner.

    So depressing.

I really hope this isn't a Joshua-Usyk style "except in the UK, Ireland and *insert nations of main event opponent and top undercard fighters*" type affair.
