Holyfield foozles Foreman first three rounds. He gets rocked in the fourth, then goes into Warrior mode and decides to punch with him. Bad mistake, knocked senseless in round 5.

Foreman gets man handled- Evander pot shots, mauls and takes Foreman by the 6th. Don’t even start mentioning your hyperbole about old George. They aren’t the same fighter In the 90s he was relaxed picked his shots and kept his cool George is gonna be marching forward taking shots and being roughed up on the inside like he’s never been before he won’t have anything left very quickly. He’s be one of the least skilled fighters Holyfield would have faced at the highest level.

Holyfield has taken just as hard shots as an old man he isn’t being stopped lol. Especially by someone so rudimentary and basic.

I do not think it would happen in 2, that is rare between 2 ATGs, & Foreman does not have the stylistic advantage like against (a past peak) Frazier.
But since Evander would in all likelihood take the bait to brawl, Foreman stops him.
Without Holyfield ever having PEDs that incressed his bulk & strength, it would not be competitive.
By the way Ali was 217 in Zaire, Foreman 220.
Possibly again coming in dehydrated due to the foolish beliefs of Saddler. He really shoud have been a 230 lb. fighter like soon before his first retirement.

it's just going to come down to whether Foreman can land some effective punches in the early rounds or whether Evander manages to get away relatively unharmed.

Evander won't do the rope a dope thing but I think George will slow down anyway and sooner or later Evanders sharp counterpunches will hit the mark...just like Ali's. George's pressure will decrease and he will either get slightly outpointed or go TKO 9-11. Anyway, Evander should be smart enough to carefully "steal" some Rounds (so a "77 Jimmy Young kinda thing" although '74 George is a bit quicker and more explosive). But Big George still has the punchers chance and i see the probability for a Norton like demolition scenario. So a ~50/50 overall to me.

yea and holy wins George had no defense in his young days and wasnt as tough he would fall and this time unlike ron holy finishes the job without getting hit as much this is the best holy 90s ver he was a semi brawler/boxer

now the 80s holy brawled only which I feel he would lose

I love Foreman but people ridiculously overrate him like he could blow apart a planet with a jab alone or is literally the strongest man on the planet. Everytime Foreman fought a technical boxer he lost.

Jimmy Young beat Foreman, and everything that Young could do, Holyfield could do it twice as better.
He is tall, cannot be outmuscled, can take a punch very well and is one of the most technically skilled boxers of all time.

Holyfield either stops him or just wins a very well deserved UD.

Not sure but Ribalta was a boxer, and a pretty darn good one if I remember correctly.

Holyfield is a straight up better boxer than Foreman. He is more well rounded and has more tricks up his sleeve. If he could stick to a disciplined game plan I think he'd be able to beat even a prime Foreman, maybe convincingly.

    But there's always the 'however'.

However, one of the reasons Evander is loved is because he liked to go to war with people. Guys that he could outbox, he tried to take their heads off and put them into the dumpster. It's the thing that makes him exciting and it's probably also his biggest flaw because he'd try to beat bigger stronger guys at their own game and at least a few times it backfired. I think there's a healthy chance he'd try do the same thing with prime Foreman and I for one don't believe that he could outslug prime Foreman. I think he might become badly unstuck at that moment.

I'm a huge fan of Holyfield, I rate him higher than Foreman in terms of legacy.

I do feel not just on this forum but in general, Foreman gets overrated as a wrecking machine. I feel there are no excuses for his losses to Young and Ali, and there are only handful of lineal Champs comeback Foreman would have success against.

That said, Evander needed to land combos to be successful. He never won a fight from the outside as a pure counter puncher, he didn't go to War for fun, it was essential to his success that he was aggressive and his opponents got into exchanges.

Evander has the physical tools and timing to be as successful as Lyle in spots, though I feel he can stun Big George, he lacks the power to knock him around like a ragdoll. And as Lyle found out, Foreman can drag you into ugly physical exchanges that favor him if you overstay , and Evander can needed to land his combos. Evander will overreach eventually and get clipped, hurt, and lose this war by stoppage.

If he tries to be a hero and slugs it with George, imo he ends up being bounced like Frazier.

Holyfield's defence is far better than Frazier's, and so is his offence. In fact Holyfield is simply better than Frazier.
