I believe Mike Tyson hit harder. Even after Mike was off the rails so to speak in the late 90s he was still able to drop guys with his right hand. Thats pretty much all he had at that point. Just a bomber. He was able to for example KO Botha with 1 shot. 10 count. Sat Golota down with one right. Saverse couldn't get out of the first round.

We do have to concede that Bert Cooper was a Coke Addict and didn't prepare or live any type of life to fight at the elite level. It's a gray area. Losing to guys like Gross probably wouldn't have happened if he was focused and prepared. That can't be ignored.

    Anyway Mike Tyson punches harder.

Cooper hit harder. I’ve seen a lot of cooper fights and that man had boulders in his gloves. His power is up there with guys like Foreman.

Nobody likes and appreciates Bert more than I do. But, he does not punch harder than Tyson. It might be close, but the evidence heavily favors Tyson.

    Completely agree with this.
The ability to land your best punches on opponents is what matters most. This is why when asked some ATGs give some unexpected answer as to who hit them hardest, cause those particular opponents managed to land hard punches on them (although sometimes with luck, since the ATG was fooling around, like Ali vs Cooper or Lewis vs Rahman etc).

This is the kind of disrespect that gets under my skin. Cooper definitely had his demons that held back his career but to call the man trash. What is/was your pro record Mark and how many Champions did you face?

Taylor, Camacho and Khan. The three greatest fighters in history, p4p.

Cooper definitely wasn’t anything special skill wise, but his power was insane

Have you even watched cooper? The only good qualities he had was his huge power and a decent chin

Again, he wasn’t very skilled. He was basically journeyman level and had serious drug problems, but he still had huge ko power

IMO Cooper has one of the fastest hands in heavyweight history. This guy could literally fire a barrage of punches like machine guy. His hands might be on par with Tyson's handspeed if not faster. Like literally! try watch his fight with Moorer, the way he just fire his punches while moorer goes down is incredible. I probably rank him number 8 when it comes to heavyweight handspeed

    Lol.
If boxing matches were/are won on just hand speed alone, those 3 along with Davis Jr, Andy Price, G.Russell, and Lomo would be the greatest fighters in history. Also add "Lightning"Lonnie Smith.
Just being " Faster" is severely overated.....
    Like punching power.......

He couldn't comprehend the gulf in skill between them if they fought- but at least he hits harder, mentally maybe that's all he'd need to try and wipe Mike out first? more then likely he gets ran over, but hey it's the hurt business anything can happen.
