I found this story and here's what he said:
When I met the old Bronx Bull Jake LaMotta, 7 or 8 years back and sat drinking wine and eating cheese & onion crisps with him in the basement bar of a hotel in my home city I asked him, as one of the most renowned hard headed fighters in history who was the hardest hitter he ever faced - a guy with one of the toughest chins ever has to know what a hard puncher is right? Without a moments hesitation he shot back "BOB SATTERFIELD!...NOBODY hit like that guy! At age 89 his mind was still sharp as a tack and he still seemed genuinely in awe of Satterfield. He hit like Mike Tyson!?" He then said "...see this" and he took one of my hands and touched it against an 'indentation' on his gnarled cranium that felt like it had been left there by a ball hammer, "Satterfield did that."

Here is something for you about Jake- before he was The raging bull he was called Jake "One man gang" LaMotta.

You guys can say whatever you want about Lamotta. You can say that he was stopped, ray hit harder, he's a liar, etc etc etc... but I trust Lamotta's words, whether you like it or not.

a tough, tough cookie and skilful fighter indeed, from perhaps the Greatest Overall Period in Boxing History. However Jake has benefitted from a bit of over rating, though still a worthy and great fighter!

I'm making an early statement, becuz I've made another post about Lamotta saying Satterfield is the hardest puncher he evr faced, but a lot of people question it.

Great story, I recall in an interview LaMotta's ex wife said that Bob Satterfield really hurt Jake in their fight. This confirms it.

    Hang on a minute...

Seven or eight years ago, you were 13 or 14. I doubt that LaMotta would be in a bar drinking wine with a 13 year old. Well, 13 year old boy, at least. Corrected myself, there. Oh, and Jake would have been 92. Not 89. Minor point but at that age every year counts in terms of memory, lucidity, ability to drink alcohol, eating crisps.

Amazing that you had such access to an old timer. I would have thought that by the age of 92, LaMotta would have been elusive for even the most rabid boxing fan and yet here you are, fresh into your teens and only interested in 'who hits harder - Foreman or Tyson?' out on the lash with him. Unbelievable.

    Literally. Unbelievable.

I didn't ask LaMotta. It's a story from someone. The fact that you notice that LaMotta was 89 years when been asked about this question should make you realize that I didn't ask the question, not that I'm lying about it. Idk what's your problem, but Imma just ignore that. Don't you think it would be interesting to know the P4P greatest chin of all time talks about the hardest puncher he ever faced? The reason why the boy ask actually make sense, people with granite chin should know about the hardest hitter they've fought and maybe the hardest punch they've ever took.

You seem to have a problem reading about this story, like seriously though, what's your problem? Idk know if I'm the only one who find this story very interesting, or maybe becuz I'm just a Satterfield fan, hearing someone credit Satterfield that much makes me so happy.

If you’re telling someone else’s story in the first person, then you should own it when people assume you were saying this is your story.

The proper way to do this is to inform us who said this right up front and say, ‘Here’s what he said:’

Sorry, my bad. I read this, in your post ...

"When I met the old Bronx Bull Jake LaMotta, 7 or 8 years back and sat drinking wine and eating cheese & onion crisps with him in the basement bar of a hotel in my home city I asked him,..."

...And I assumed you had asked him. It's the two 'Is' that you used that threw me. Not sure how LaMotta being 89 should have shown me that I was foolish to assume your use of 'I' suggested it was you. @Saintpat has already pointed out that you shouldn't use the first person if you're not talking about yourself but I'm not convinced you'll know what he means. I've got a feeling you'll think he means Adam.

So, it wasn't you that asked him. We've established that. So, it's just an unsubstantiated anecdote without a source. About punch power, as usual. You're really bringing it, aren't you? Might want to go easy calling other people 'dumbass', if I were you.

Nah, it's not your fault, I'm sorry, I should've said that the quote is not from me.. but still is an interesting story right? I feel like this could help people see Satterfield differently about his power and you don't need to actually to prove that Satterfield is the hard puncher or something.. it's just a nice story where Sm LaMotta talks about how hard Satterfield hit and his experience getting hit by it.
