Warren needs to realise who the champion is and respect him. He’s treating Arthur like he’s the challenger.

Arthur won, Arthur is the British and commonwealth champion (I think). He’s done it in London, he’s willing to run it back in Manchester. Why on earth is this fight in Birmingham? Because Stoke boy can sell tickets?

Also just to add, Yarde needs Arthur. Not the other way round.

Lyndon is 6 with WBC, Yarde 9
    13 with WBA, Yarde unranked
    4 with IBF, Yarde 12
    1 with WBO, Yarde 13.

When the original fight was made Frank said it was an eliminator for Joe Smith. If Yarde won then he would’ve been fighting Joe Smith for the title now. So Arthur has a right to feel aggrieved, Warren is trying to back him in to a rematch not on his terms.

I just want them to get the rematch out of the way and move on to better things. That first fight was so boring

johnson and buatsi beat both these guys regardless

I keep seeing people make similar arguments, and I don’t get them tbh.

Arthur signed a rematch clause to secure the first fight, so the fact that Warren wants to do it again, should be no surprise to them.

Warren also made Lyndon the headliner for the July fight against Faraci, and Yarde was on his undercard (altho he pulled out fight week) so I also don’t get why people keep saying Lyndon is being treated as second fiddle.

The first fight was in a empty hall and both were stuck in a hotel for a week, so the fact it was in london was zero advantage for Yarde.

As for the rematch being in Manchester, that makes zero sense as they only really have the MEN arena and that holds 20k..Lyndon is not exactly a massive ticket seller and Warren doesn’t really have anybody who can sell in that region.

Birmingham makes perfect sense as Warren has Heaney, Lennox Clarke, Foster, Cunningham and Liam Davies all on the card and are local ticket sellers.

The Yarde rematch is also the most financially lucrative available as the WBO is tied up until probably next summer and Lyndon is not the mandatory.

If he signed a proper rematch clause there would be nothing up for debate. Similar to Ruiz v Joshua 2. Ruiz was making x and y demand and ultimately it happened on Hearn’s terms.

WBO may be tied up but so is it at heavyweight and we hear Warren bang on about Joyce fighting Joshua which is at least 18 months away.

I’m sure Sky and DAZN would love to take Arthur off Warren so he needs to tread carefully.

Arthur was at fight camp not too long ago too. I think Arthur is also aggrieved he’s lost a year of his career waiting for Yarde.
He was happy to run it back straightaway but Warren and Yarde wanted a tick over to build etc first.
He agreed a rematch but there was likely some terms that had to be mutually agreed such as venue etc. My guess there is also likely a 12 month rematch clause in there which is now starting to get close.

We only got the news yesterday, it could well be resolved in the next few days and confirmed but let’s see. You know very well that nothing at this level in boxing is ever 1-2-3.

AJ-Ruiz 2 was not completely straight forward - Ruiz’s circle was making a few noises initially, and Hearn had to
come out publicly and remind Ruiz about his legal obligations. There was also some talk that Ruiz ended up getting more money than stipulated in the contract.

Joyce has been confirmed by the WBO as mandatory after Usyk is hopefully put away by AJ- Arthur has not been. Smith is fighting Vlasov next, then I think Arum has said there looking for Beterbiev or another voluntary first.

Lyndon would be a dummy to leave Warren. He is a priority on BT and be can make big money from Yarde 2 and also Callum Johnson is in the stable. He is also with the promoter who is most capable of delivering the WBO title shot.

Arthur was at fight camp because his stable mate/ cousin was fighting - it’s hardly a big deal. Joyce was also there for the same reasons.

Yarde has said numerous times that he wanted the rematch straight away - if anything it’s Lyndon who has not been as enthusiastic. If you can point to an actual example where this is incorrect, I will concede the point. Otherwise, it seems pretty clear you just made that all up to suit your argument.

Let’s see how it plays out next week

I don’t think he is a priority though. Yarde is the priority. Warren and BT both want that Yarde win, let’s not pretend otherwise. If he does win they’ll put him forward for Joe Smith. If Arthur wins then no doubt they’ll put him forward for Callum Johnson.

Yeah, but that’s just business though- you know that.

Lyndon is a much a priority as Whyte would be for Hearn if he fought AJ in the rematch that they offered him.

Yarde draws big ratings and attention to BT, so they of course want him to do well- it doesn’t mean that Lyndon isn’t valued.

Despite Yarde being their favourite, Arthur got the decision last time. If he wins again, he will go up the ladder and Yarde will be yesterday’s news for Warren. That’s the business there in.

I haven’t got the proof, but I’m pretty certain Warren will be able to pay Arthur more to fight Callum Johnson than he would get for Smith Jnr, so it’s a win, win.

The scorecards were a disgrace even if 2 of the judges couldn't quite bring themselves to deliver the robbery

I suspect Arthur knows that this time the commentary, judges and referee will be better 'prepared'

Can you point to any clear facts that state it’s the same the other way around?

I never stated anything as matter of fact. I just know what clauses are common in boxing contracts. Now let’s calm down rather than speculating on a forum.

sometimes there’s a reason the fighter isn’t signing a contract and it’s not likely to be the fact he doesn’t want to fight Yarde given he convincingly best him the first time
