Which fighters looked invincible based on eye test ,so much that any criticism towards their flaws or opposition was labelled as plain hating or being a contrarian until they got beaten or had a fight in which they didn't look as good ?

Few examples of my own ,Tito Trinidad before the Hopkins fight, Jeff Lacy before Calzaghe fight and a current example David Benavidez looks great and almost unbeatable in front of plodders and guys he can bully with his size advantage.

    What are your picks?

In hindsight "Fighters" in the title would be more appropriate given the wording of my post but eh.. **** it.

    Hagler
    Don Curry
    Mike Tyson
    Joshua
    Prince Naseem
    Larry Holmes

The list is probably endless. When in my early teens, many fighters would look amazing, even unbeatable. I truly believed Tyson would break Marciano’s record, in all fairness he should have.
    Great thread this should be.

Tarver loss was considered to be a fluke but Glen Johnson made it clear that RJJ's best days were a thing of past, then RJJ goes and gets his head knocked off 6 more times.

It's a miracle that he's as articulate given the beatings he was dished out post prime.

    no, not naseem.
with all due respect, it's a different world being a beast in britain compared to being a beast internationally

    I also picked him.
Do you reckon his arrogance beat him in the end ?

Bad habits, hand injuries and poor work ethics were the major factor, he was and still is a cocky midget but it was his lack of proper training coupled with hand issues that did him at the highest level.

GGG was several times "exposed" on ESB because he got hit or didn't knock an opponent out in two rounds.

Plus he has the lowest boxing IQ that I have ever seen from any champion. He was a dumb fighter.
