Just for context. The doctor or nurse asked boytsov,How are you is everything alright? Boytsov noded . I doubt he can do anything else but seems to be still present to some extend.

Yeah, that's what I think. Don't buy that story unless there's video evidence. Memories a bit foggy, but I believe there were some close to him who also thought this to be the case.

I think it is his wife who refuses to believe the offical story and is convinced it will all come out once Denys is able to speak again.
She is adamant he didn't abuse alcohol and I think there were some sleeping pills in his system which she claims must have been given to him because he never took anything, even pain relief for a headache, because he was always getting drug tested.

But the German report "found no evidence of 3rd parties".

There were always stories that he was attacked by members of the Russian mob. At the time, and maybe until this day, Russian mobsters would target pro athletes from Russia who had moved to another country to compete in pro sports and the mobsters extorted money from them or tried to get them to fix games, and the threat was that they'd kill the athletes' family members still living in Russia.

Hockey players were the primary targets. But boxers were , too.

Alexander Miroshnichenko fought Bowe in the Olympics for the USSR and was undefeated in 21 pro fights before he lost to Oleg Maskaev in Oleg's pro debut (and Mirosnichenko never fought again). Miroshnichenko reportedly entered the fight with a broken arm (which is one way to secure a win for Oleg). In fact, Oleg's career was so shady at the the start, when he fought Oliver McCall, he was billed on US national television as being 15-0. He actually had only had five fights. Anyway, Miroshnichenko died a few years later after falling off the ninth floor of his apartment building or "falling down nine flights of stairs" (which would be tough to do) ... it's never been crystal clear ... just before he was supposed to testify in court that he witnessed a former boxer and mafia member kill another boxer. But he never made it to court to testify because he either fell down all the steps in his building or he fell out the window.

Sergey Kobozev, a top-rated cruiserweight, was killed by Russian mobsters in Brooklyn, New York, shortly after Kobozev lost a cruiserweight title fight. Supposedly, Kobozev bounced a Rusian mob guy out a nightclub where Kobozev worked as a bouncer, and they came back and kidnappped him, broke his neck and murdered him.

Denis Boystov, the #1 WBO heavyweight contender, lost in a huge upset to Alex Leapai. During his comeback, he was all but killed in a Germany subway. His skull was caved in. German authorities ruled it an accident. I don't know how you accidently cave in the whole side of your skull, though. Basically, he had his skull crushed and he was tossed on the tracks to be run over and be torn to bits. But he was discovered before he got run over. So they blamed the head cave in to "a fall."

Lots of pro athletes from Russia "falling down" and breaking things from the neck up.

Any time I hear that a Russian athlete "fell down" and died or nearly died, seems to be code for Russian Mob hit.

Horrible to see him still in such a terrible state after all this time

'Denis has higher education, he studied at the Oryol State Technical University in the department of sport management. Married to Olga Litvinova, in June 2015 the couple was born a girl.
    The attack on the boxer

May 11, 2015 the media began to spread the news that Dennis Boytsova health is threatened. The fact that it was an assassination attempt, during which the boxer was brutally beaten and left on the tracks of the Berlin subway. In the investigative report, it was stated that a boxer was drunk. According to some sources, the Russian sportsman tried to escape from the unknown, and finding alternative solutions, fled into the subway tunnel.

Olga Litvinova - wife of Denis Boytsova - about what happened

Concrete evidence that Denis anyone chasing, no, but his wife told about the events of two years ago, are forced to look at the situation in a new way: "Two years ago, Denis stopped cooperating with promoter Waldemar Klyuhom. This incident was the reason that we have long been threatened. Denis repeatedly received messages on the phone from unknown numbers with the words "you will end his career in a wheelchair." The whole story ended up in a couple of months, attacked one of the assistants Denis and smashed his head. When internal organs intervened Klyuh was remanded in custody and some time later received a jail term of three years. A few months ago we learned that Valdemar Klyuha set free, supposedly for diligent behavior. We can not say anything, because the investigation is underway. Medical examination showed that blood Dennis was found not only alcohol, but also drugs like sleeping pills and sedatives. Apparently, the attackers worked to ensure that the athlete became weaker. "
Fighters Denis: accident in the subway of Berlin

with Boytsov case long misled many people. The fact that this situation has happened with other athletes. Denis Denisov (MMA Fighter) in 2011, was also severely beaten on a tip from his own promoter, which was at odds about the sport commerce. Big money, which turn in world sport, sometimes made me very many people. The tragedy that happened to Denis Boytsov, provoked a comprehensive response among the boxing world community. Denis Denisov (MMA Fighter), in turn, supported Boytsova, both morally and financially.

    What is the result?

Denis Boytsova state was extremely difficult, experts immediately said with one voice that in boxing, this young man did not return. This is not surprising, because the athlete spent in a coma the whole 7 weeks, during which dropped 33 kilograms. Fortunately, on the restoration of health costs covered by sports insurance that was available at Denis. At the end of May 2015 athlete condition was stable, however, preventive treatment will take several more years.

Fighters Denis: accident in the subway of Berlin

The Investigative Committee is inclined to an accident, but Olga Litvinova - wife of Denis, I'm sure that it's not by accident.

Indeed a very horrible thing... Here is a translated resume:

He was hospitalized for rehabilitation in Germany for the past 6 years since the accident happened back in 2015. His mother did not see him for the past 5 years, but they have finally managed to transport him back to Russia after a long legal battle.

The nurse asks him how is he and if he is okay and Boytsov nods. He seems to understand what is going on around him, but he is not able to speak.

The legal process for returning his son back to Russia was started by his mother. She mentioned in the interview that she is willing to basically sell everything to just have Denis back, but she was refused a couple of times. (seems like it was more than a legal issue, than a financial one)

Finally, they managed to organize the transportation with the help of the Russian ministry. Some boxing organization helped financially. So now, the Russian social workers will be helping him by providing the basic needs like wheelchair, bed etc. at his home. They will be preparing all documentation and papers and will eventually aim to send Boytsov for a rehabilitation in Moscow.

In the end they say that his home turned to a mini museum with all of his titles cups etc.

Reading some of the comments of the video on Youtube, it seems like he is pretty much abandoned by his friends and wife. All he has is his family now.

    Very sad.

It was the Russian mob. He was involved in some **** and was always partying and drinking in Hamburg and he behaved like he is the king, some guys didn't like that at all. It was clearly a planned attack to murder him

Just a question about the "caved in head" thing...do they not sometimes remove a piece of the skull to relieve pressure in the brain?

Is it possible that is the cause of the indentation?

Well, they do sometimes remove a piece of the skull to relieve swelling, but I always thought it was the very top. And they put it back when the swelling goes down.

The head caved in thing is the result of having his head caved in. When I saw him the first person I thought of was Reginald Denny. He was the tractor trailer driver who got pulled from his truck during the L.A. riots and had his head caved in with a cinder block by a bunch of truly evil people. He lived, but he had the caved in head after that, too. The side of your head doesn't cave in easily. It has to be crushed.
