Jab- baited, the right hand catches Ali's back to stop the retreat then a left hook, right hand that puts the greatest off balance maybe a little stunned? From the angle I can't tell If the GOAT stopped the left hook or took the sting off it but that sequence was really cool. (I suggest slowing it down a little.)

Sorry If its a bit pointless but I just liked it.

Yup, very pretty and definitely not pointless. Veteran with a pile of ring-savvy tricks the greatest pure athlete in HW history onto his best punches past his prime.

You can see for a while after that Ali goes flying every time Folley's lead hand moves.

He did not want to let that happen again.

Still watching a bit of Muhammad and I just wanted to point out a bit of the obvious for some but something a few miss and that is the subtle "grappling" in boxing. A lot of fluff stuff went into this combo to keep Williams guard static- so Ali could pry his left out of the way for an easy right. (Slow it down)

Joe Gans using the classic leverage guard to intercept a 1,2 followed by a right handed stab at the midsection.

March 22 1967, Madison Square Garden, Muhammad Ali's 9th title defense. He was stripped of his title and boxing license about a month later.

Have any channels shown what those old time maneuvers look like with modern cameras?

By the Joe Gans era it's like the Zapruder film looking for the magic jab. Maybe if I saw someone spar with Joe Gans' style on modern film I'd understand better.

Ver poor ones do things like this specifically. However you can find the bones of these maneuverers even today. Bernard, Loma, Mayweather, Toney and countless others have burrowed old school techniques.

I tried to find it but couldn’t, but old, past-it Roberto Duran once did something on a USA Network fight that I’d never seen. I thought it was against Paul Thorn but when I reviewed that I didn’t see it so either I missed it or it was against someone else.

Roberto got his guy on the ropes. He threw a looping right hand purposely over his head in an arc where the right hand came down on the opponent’s right shoulder, then grabbed it to spin the guy and hit him with a left hook.

It’s about the craftiest thing I’ve ever seen.

If you find any little sequences you like of Duran or anyone feel free to upload them :]
I can't say I have seen Duran pull it off. I think I have seen of all people Benn do this.

I just like the way Griff had been feinting for a hot minute to set it up. He steps between the legs while Nino takes flight and lines it up great. Nothing special but a product of a few rounds of mind games and I think it is neat.
