Bob Fitzsimmons. Could his experience at light heavy beat the raw power of Michael Moorer?
Certainly not a prime Fitz but certainly one that knows the ring.

    Is it enough though??

No version of Fitzsimmons stands a chance against Moorer.

For old Fitzsimmons someone as explosive as Moorer could be too much at this point. He did beat George Gardner who was a solid puncher, but Moorer would have more physical advantages over Bob.

That said, you can't count out old Fitz, especially when you see Moorer losing to another old fighter who relied on his power.

Moorer was never a LHW and if we put him in from anyone in that era they are leaving the ring on a stretcher.

Who's to say Moorer actually hit harder? A closer look at the level of competition should be examined. Besides that end I feel Fitz was much tougher mentally and Fitz actually liked to fight. Can't really say the same about Moorer. Fitz was put on this earth to fight period

Are you seriously comparing Fitzsimmons to a powerhouse like Foreman !?? :rolleyes:o_O
    Foreman hit twice as hard

I don't compare them, but I do mention that Moorer lost against Foreman because he lacked chin and experience - Fitzsimmons had enough power to stop anyone and he had more experience than old Foreman.

How can you know that? Were you hit by both?

Anyone that Foreman can accurately hit with a good punch will look like he has a bad chin.
Moorer was only KOd twice in his entire career, by power punchers like Foreman and Tua. That is not a bad chin.

No he did not, stop dreaming. He doesn't stop any HWs that have a decent chin.

That doesn't mean he was a better boxer, he was far inferior to Foreman who landed a lucky punch anyway.
Even if we assume Fitsimmons will land big, which he ain't got the skill to do, it won't be enough to stop Moorer.

I don't need to, it's an obvious answer.

Sharkey, Corbett, Ruhlin all had solid chins.
How can you know that? How may Fitz fights have you seen?
So again - it's on you to prove that human skulls got thicker after 70 years of "evolution", not on me.

Don't be silly, power translates across decades. Fitzsimmons definitely hit hard enough to stop anyone.

Now I won’t challenge your beliefs on who hit harder I don’t know. But I absolutely agree on your comment about Moorer not being a born fighter. When he moved up to his real weight class he fought so very anxiously.

I don't understand how you can expect Moorer to knock out Fitzsimmons in Round 1 when Fitzsimmons, at 170 lbs, knocked out a 260 lb man (Ed Dunkhorst) in fkin 2 rounds. Moorer never knocked out a big man like that and the closest big man he fought was Foreman and got knocked the fk out. Fitzsimmons knocked out Hall of Famers from middleweight (Nonpareil Dempsey) to heavyweight (James J Corbett). Fitz is a true pound for pound great, in my opinion.

Not to mention the version of Fitzsimmons that fought Gardner was a mess.

Injured hands, drained from getting back to his old weight, ill.

Gardner was a similar size to Fitzsimmons, only around a Middleweight.

The version of the Jeffries rematch would be interesting though.

Yes I remember reading many a story where he completely lacked confidence in himself and didn't want to train. Complete opposite of the image he tried to portray of himself where as Fitz would fight anybody anytime including multiple times in a day regardless of weight. Guy was a 100% bad ###
