I don't think anyone is putting Arthur up on a pedestal here. He can definitely hold his own domestically but not sure how much further he can go, however, I would have Yarde also at domestic level seeing as he's never even fought for a British title he's not demonstrated he's beyond that.
“running” and then straight punches are called boxing and its a skill. His jab is superb and millions of fights have been won by using only this. When you’re fighting a terrible fighter like Yarde a good jab is all you need. I’m not being funny. I just can’t stand Yarde and many others fake hype. I thought the wrong man was going to get the decision that night but the right man won due to boxing skills and not having muscles that Instagram boxing fans think make you good.
Yarde was pretty terrible last time and nearly won on the judges' cards. Arthur apparently had a hand injury - who knows if that is true, but he barely threw his right. Basically, both have a lot of room for improvement and seem to have the tools to be able to improve upon their performances last time out. Arthur beat Yarde with a jab, so he really should beat him again. Yarde's excuses after the bout were a joke and Ajayi is an odious bloke so I hope Arthur belts him.
It's probably another close fight. Yarde is going to get outjabbed by anyone with a half decent jab because his own jab is ****. He needs to get in and make it a fight but has had too many cans and too much posing and messing around and never developed any real urgency. He is also afraid of gassing after the Kovalev thing and still has Tunde and the yes-men employed. Arthur might just win minutes jabbing and get through the rocky patches of the fight. It's hard to have any faith in Yarde at all.
Shame this clashes with Liverpool. Liam Davies vs Andrew Cain is a brilliant British title eliminator Lennox Clarke vs Chelli could land on this as well
Yarde had the chance but didn't ditch his idiotic manager/trainer Turde. He's not going to progress beyond domestic. Might squeeze past Arthur but don't think so.
That was it. He had his chance to get shut of Tunde. I even said Keep him on board just as a manager or whatever but no he’s still there getting trained full time by him. At the age of 30 and same trainer he’s not ever going to progress.
Yeah his camps are a joke. I had a friend who has been in numerous camps with them and although he like Tunde as a person he said he didnt really feel like he was in a proper boxing camp. Even said it felt very much like a boxercise session. Also apparently Yarde is a pain in the arse and they let him get away with murder, turning up whenever he likes and is pretty much always late for every session and they don't press him as apparently he gets very moody and might not even turn up.
How often do you hear the top fighters talk about the training camps being the opportunity to get the edge on their opponent. Things like when a run gets incredibly gruelling and they want to just stop but there's that nagging thought in their head that's saying 'your opponent won't be stopping for breaks in his training camp'. That mindset makes a huge difference and if that's what Yarde is like then I'm really not surprised he hasn't backed up the hype yet.
I mean dont get me wrong you don't get physique like that without hard work and you can clearly see in the kovalev fight that he has heart but there is something amiss with him and his team.
