Not going to rule out AJ winning that way. He has the skillset to box, and his size will bother Usyk at times.
Not a great gameplan for the big lad. To outskill someone, you need to be more skilled than they are. Elementary.
Skills need to compliment your size. AJ has that size advantage. So even with less overall skills, his skill level might be enough to "outskill" the guy with more skills.
Pretty much my take as well. Usyk is the more skilled of the two. But can't overlook how well Chisora did when he fought Usyk.
This, Usyk is better PFP but Joshua has the size and reach and he plans on using it, though Usyk did struggle with Chisora, he did beat Chisora easier than Whyte and Parker so this'll be an interesting fight
Usyk has evaded more shots than AJ, check his fights compared to AJ`s, he`s always coming forwards so more leather comes his way like Calzaghe.
Some people probably put the house on AJ vs Ruiz I... I still think Usyk stops him late as this just gives Usyk an easier time figuring out AJ.
What a fighter says will be his plan before the fight won't necessarily be his actual plan. I expect Joshua to work off his jab and make Usyk take chances. If he feels comfortable, he will probably take more risks than he did against Parker, Povetkin and Pulev, since Usyk has less of a punch.
Usyk packing on weight might just be the right way to go. It might effect his speed and stamina, but if he doesn't have the punch to get Joshua's respect I think things will get very difficult for him so I don't think he has much choice..
No it doesn't, Usyk is more skilled but Joshua is the elite heavyweight with the 82 inch reach and the 6'6 height and if he's slimming down like it seems, he'll probably be faster than Usyk at this point too. Usyk will be doing a lot of feinting and probing but he'll have to actually take risks to edge out some rounds and he'll get timed more often than you think. Joshua wlll be landing on Usyks guard a lot and this alone might keep Usyk honest early and maintain distance and he'll try the occasional jab to the body but Usyks workrate and pressure might be an issue for Aj late though. It'll be competitive but i have Joshua by close decision and i stand by that. If Joshua were to just try and run through Usyk he'd struggle with Usyk's movement, gas out his ass and get countered repeatedly. Joshua don't got the gas tank to maintain that kind of pressure for more than 3 rounds and he's not that great at cutting of the ring. That would make it easier for Usyk to figure Joshua out, not Joshua trying to stay behind a jab.
