Rocky was the more skilled fighter. Seriously.

 

I know another one who got kayoed in Tokyo, and everyone makes excuses for him, he too is overrated.

 

I doubt that. Marciano's defense is underrated, very cagey guy. Fury would just outpoint him with his reach and height. Marciano ranks No 10 in my Top10 ATGs heavyweights. Fury does not make my list.

Agree with Marciano. He's both ridiculously overrated but sometimes he's awfully underrated and disrespected.

Disagree with the Klitschkos, replace them with Sonny Liston.

 

The Klitschkos were never really overrated so i don't know why the poster mentioned them

 

I'd say he's smaller than what most LHW are in the ring today. Let alone what they would be if they didn't have to make weight. I don't know what for example Beterbiev is in the ring today, but he competed at 200 lbs as an amateur.

With that said, Marciano was clearly very strong and powerful for hos size and I have no problem seeing him lasting the distance with Fury or Usyk. Btw, didn't Beterbiev rock Usyk pretty badly when the faced off as amateurs?

 

Most LHWs rehydrate 185 on average and you'll have some big LHWs at 190lb+ in the ring. Thats around the weight of Marciano, although Marciano did KO bigger guys than that.

Whatever you can say about Rocky Marciano and Wladamir Klitschko, they delivered the goods in the real physical universe.

Inevitably that will earn them a degree of respect from many boxing fans.

 

My Granddaughter used to think she knew everything...when she was 12 years old. Now she says the older she gets, the less she knows. It's really funny how age and experience can do that to a person.
