Couple of big Slavic hosses set to collide. The vacant WBC international cruiserweight title will be at stake.

Neither man is currently even ranked top 15 by the WBC (nor any org, save for Tishchenko hanging on by a thread in the IBF ratings at #14) and so this is a real crossroads match. Both - coming off defeats earlier this year (to Thabiso Mchunu and Evgeny Romanov, respectively) - will see victory here as imperative. :ggg

Kudra did better against Romanov then Tischenko did against Mchunu. I've not seen much of Tischenko, but he seems like a "leave it in the amateurs" type.

I was really surprised that Kudryashov went 12 rounds with Romanov. Kudry looked shot to bits recently. Tishchenko on the other side is just another fake prospect with a very good amateur background. He's doing **** in the pro ranks. But he should still get past Kudry.

Mchunu totally schooled him, but he's a good and very underrated fighter. Tishchenko might well be one of those types, but that fight also might have just come too soon. I won't write him off completely, given his pedigree.

I think Tishchenko is just one of those guys who made a very good amateur but is doing nothing in the pros. He also lacks power. He's probably as close as it gets to being featherfisted for a HW/CW hybrid. His style is so underwhelming. Can't see him going anywhere.

Yeah he fights in a totally amateur style, not good for the pros. If those amateur tendencies can be bred out of him... Maybe he can still become a decent contender, I don't think he's a timid and rigid glass jawed fighter ala Price or Harrison and he isn't an unmotivated slob like Solis... So some judgement should be reserved, let's see him rebuild and maybe take one more crack against a ranked fighter before totally disregarding him.

The Russian Hammer will have gained some confidence from his performance against Romanov, and will be more aggressive, which means, he'll either violently KO this Evgeny, or get KTFO himself. I'm leaning towards the former.

    • Evgeny Tishchenko - Russian, very big deal in the amateurs, 6'5", southpaw, powerful.
    • Vlad Sirenko - Ukrainian, based in South Africa for first half of pro career, so-so amateur, 6′ 3½″, orthodox, powerful.
    • Oleksandr Teslenko - Ukrainian, based in Canada, crap amateur, 6'4", orthodox, powerful, got exposed a couple of years ago versus Shawndell Winters

I've long struggled as well. :sisi1

Actually feels like I'm forgetting a fourth one (at least) that hit the scene around the same time. Invasion of the SHW "-enkos".

I'm surprised so many see a Tishchenko KO, the guy is living out that dream where you punch and punch but the other guy won't go down every time he steps in the ring.

The one that just fought in the Olympics and isn't even six foot? (and doesn't end in enko :sisi1)

Nah, thinking some other big lumbering EE that already debuted in the pros and then got lost in the shuffle. Or maybe it's just my brain ****ing with me because whenever I'd get Sirenko and Tishchenko mixed up, or Sirenko and Teslenko, or Tishchenko and Teslenko, my immediate response on realizing the mixup would be "oh no, not this one, that one..." followed by a moment of existential crisis where I'm like "wait, isn't there a third one?!" - so that now in the rare instance I'm thinking lucidly of all three at once and looking at their names side by side I'm convinced there's a phantom fourth.

Speaking of lucid... I'm nodding off at the moment, but it'll come to me eventually.
