Really? There isn't a heavyweight champ as accomplished or dominant as Canelo. Don't know if FM came back and beat Canelo justifies the GOAT status, but I'd argue it's better than Vlad coming back and winning.

Floyd wouldn't even beat Pac at this point, let alone Canelo.

pretty silly putting calzaghe anywhere near the level of floyd in the first place, or an an ATG list.

Great wins in your prime against natural rivals is getting replaced by freak achievements like fighting when old or with a huge size disadvantage.

First thing is if you look a little more closely those old guys did the freak stuff too, coming in way underweight to fight someone popular a division or more above you, but the bigger thing is so what?

Canelo isn't the best ever, so why would beating him make you the best ever? The best 40+ guy ever by a long shot but not much else.

Something that would have moved the needle for Floyd is if he had started a trilogy with Pac in 2010.

It was just an example of silly match ups, but if Calzaghe comes back and beat AJ he would be on top of every ATG list, how can he not?

You're delusional if you think beating a bunch and c and b tier fighters is worth more than a win of this magnitude.

You're letting the fact that Floyd is old completely cloud your judgment. Floyd beating this version of Canelo, a guy fight 3 weight classes above Floyds last weightclass would be an ATG win for Prime Floyd. The thought of Floyd doing it at his current age propels him even that much further. Who cares if Canelo isn't the best ever. He's a great 158 lb fighter and that would be a greater win then prime Pacquiao. That's coming from from somebody who holds Pacquiao in much higher regard than Canelo.

44, out of shape and retired from serious fights for good reason.

So basically to come back and beat one of the best fighters right now, at a higher weight than he fought at, would be an ATG#1 achievement.

    It's ****ing irrelevant though because:
#1 He wouldn't dare get in there now, he knows his limits (dare I say: "He's not Pac"?)
#2 Even if he did dare, he'd be destroyed in no time.

The pathetic Butterbean Vs AJ poll made more sense than this, and that's saying something.

Yes, he's not Pac... Mayweather wouldn't hang around so long to get bullied by Jeff Horn and outclassed by Ugas. I'm a fan of both fighters but Pacquiao has always been overrated for his fan friendly style. Longevity is impressive but not defining. It's like a Hopkins/Hagler comparison. Hopkins had the longevity but Hagler was much more impressive at his peak.

Frequent fighting carries great risk on it's own and then you mix in more dangerous opposition at random compared to Floyd's carefully scripted record. The delusions are yours.
