It was a different style. Economical. Fencing for openings. A fighter moved when he needed to move. Smaller gloves. I think they were 6oz up to 1959 in championship fights. Less room for era.

That’s what you had to do to fight in that era. They fought more often. More fighters.

All those guys you don’t like came from the generation that taught the guys you like. Frazier’s coach fought in the Joe Louis era.

Frazier’s style was developed from the Henry Armstrong style of fighting. He fought in the 1930s too. So thank god for that era. Otherwise you wouldn’t have seen the guys you understand.

was that the style then or a lack of not knowing how to move good cause I see a lack of not knowing

which means they didnt know how to move better it wasnt by choice when so many was the same way like your trying to act like it was by choice its obvious it wasnt

I dont believe in that myth of louis was fighting that way to save energy when he moved the same tiptoe way as others

I do know they fought more often how come your acting like that same way of fighting would work in 70s it wouldnt and you know it wouldnt they would have to upgrade just to be able to compete or would be destroyed it wouldnt be a option of choice they would for a fact have to

yea I seen Henry had the basic style of joe you see how joe upgraded it cause he knew like I told you if he was basic like henry he would be destroyed he knew it was outdated so he had to upgrade

    I really disagree with this.
First, Ali was just starting his prime, he was better in '66-'67.
AlsoI think you mixed Ali saying he was out on his feet with Frazier or Foreman. He did not claim this about Liston.

And Liston was on in the tank-you are thinking of the rematch, which was not a fix but a farce.
Also Liston hurt his shoulder during the fight chasing Ali.
AND Ali had the disadvantage of having fought nearly blind for a couple rounds due to the substance on Liston's glove, intentional or not.

So yes, Peak Ali beats Peak Liston.

I know Ali said Liston's jab was the most hurtful he ever encountered, but I concur I've never read anything about Liston having him out on his feet.

I'm a big Liston fan but Ali really pulled it off in that first fight. At times Liston actually did look like his sparring partner.

Yup. Louis did not hit harder than Liston, and Joe could not beat 70s-90s top HWs

alot of people dont seem to know holy punch style was like joe but sense the skill level of movement upgraded alot he never just dominated as easy as joe did

which shows like I always say louis would have to upgrade or he would be destroyed

people will say no holy didnt punch as smoothly accurate as joe but look at the fighters movement he couldnt just do them the exact way as joe did cause of the upgrade in movement
