The worst thing you can have done to you, is have your skull constantly hit, at great force.

It's gonna cause damage. Each fighter s different to the amount, but they'll always be some damage done.

We should name boxers we "don't" think have brain damage, that would be a much better thread

Every fighter will have some brain damage if analysed neurologically.

A soft fragile organ that cannot regenerate damaged cells contained within a solid walled dome like the skull, is going to be damaged by blows to it each and every time, however like so much in life some are outwardly more affected by such things than others.

As i have got older and reflected on my teen to mid 20s boxing exploits i must admit wishing i had followed the mantra of "to hit and not get hit", but alas the impetuousness of youth over rode those wise words, taking more blows than likely healthy just so i could hopefully land heavier ones on my opponent.

Ah well i can't change what has happened, just know i enjoyed every minute, and yes i would do it all again.

There's a lot to brain damage you can't see as an outsider. There's even more that the person whose brain is damaged can't detect. What could be a bad day of mental fog for you is their every day. An instance where your mind wanders and settles on nothing in particular for you may happen to them constantly. People who get hit in the head all the way from low level gym sparring to top level pros are all going to be affected to some degree. This is what they mean when they say Boxing is No Joke

LOL, don't get all in a twist. You mentioned brain damage. If you hadn't noticed, that's my moniker.

I noticed it. I only retorted because I didn't know if you were joking or serious.

Since your moniker refers to the title at least you had to write a post of approval to the thread. Lol

All combat sports, including non striking sports and high level sport even if this is not combat sport?
I think if you are not high level amateur or pro, then you should think: do you need really hard sparring sessions or workload?
If you can't deliver results mentioned in international level mass media in non combat sport, is it worth to do very high training?

I now do have a bit doubts here.
When I was young cat, sometimes I might had been really friendly and sometimes too brutal in sparring.
    It had specific price ofc.
Later when I was a bit older, I was more normal, while I was more mature and still was able to turn into brutal mode if someone did not had followed our agreement regards to sparring.
    Fight the same.
When I had decided that this is not my long term aim to earn for a living with this, I had another opinion.
While I had turned even more friendly, I also had turned into even more brutal if someone had not followed agreement how this should had been sparred.
