They are two boxers with a very similar style. Dempsey is lighter in weight and taller. Probably faster and more mobile: he could move well forward, sideways, backward. Heavier Tyson should have more strength and power. Tyson has a great technique. Dempsey, however, has always proved to be a boxer with a steel character, without the crises of "Iron Mike". Very uncertain, in my opinion. I choose Dempsey for a career, I think, better.
Actually it is. Tyson by KO in a few rounds at best. Completely WRONG. Heart don't mean **** if the other guy is better than you. Heart only makes the difference when boxers are evenly matched. I see Tyson as having an edge in both departments, but I'll go along to see where this is going You're exaggerating big time. Dempsey is nowhere Tyson in terms of chin. And Firpo matching Foreman's power ?!? Come on man, stop perpetuating garbage opinions of imbecile writers. Prime Tyson never had such issues, and that's the version Dempsey is gonna face. Tyson KOs him in just 1 round if Dempsey is dumb enough to trade. Bull****. He was hit/hurt in his prime too (though very rare), yet he crunched his teeth and prevailed. This is the stupidest Tyson myth out there. Again, a stupid myth. He ain't getting anywhere. If Tyson has him hurt, he's dead meat. I didn't see Tyson get discouraged against Ribalta. Tyson kept mauling him. No he doesn't. And as I would say, take away (or down several notches) Tyson's speed, power, chin and especially skill, and you have Dempsey. He ain't making it that far.

I agree with you that Tyson is better & would take Dempsey. But the calling people dummies & bragging about using the insult stupid is at best childish abuse that is not brave from a distance & brings down the forum. We got rid of most of the insecure, vicious name callers over the years. This place is now much better with overwhelmingly decent adults. You have thus far avoided being banned. Do not either risk being exiled or continue to be part of the problem by being vicious.
What an asinine question this thread asks. Nonpareil Dempsey destroys Tyson. Tyson is carrying at least 60 or 70 pounds of useless extra muscle, bones, and organs relative to Nonpareil; Mikey never had to face monsters like Fitzsimmons or -- Er. Wait. You mean JACK Dempsey? The 1920s champion going up against Iron Mike? You're serious? Tyson murders that bum. Boxing has evolved way beyond the days of Jack Dempsey.

All you can do is laugh, it’s essentially a 218 pound wrecking ball with much better technique, better trainers, better nutrition, better sparring etc, everything better prepared, oh and he was also much more talented and physically bigger, more powerful, better chin etc.. vs a 185 pound guy who would either be a small cruiserweight or a big light heavyweight these days. Just pure idiocy and old time bias. And I’m not hating on Dempsey, he was a great for his time, but this is stupid and pure nostalgia. Guru
