Best survivalist fighters with negative styles?

    Among the actual contenders, who would you consider the absolute masters at never taking risks, even when it bores the audience to tears? The negative fighters who refuse to engage, the clinchers, the stonewalling defenders.

    This would be the thread to sing the praises of fighters like John Ruiz or Jimmy Young. The guys who could land two punches to your one...but only because there were a total of three punches thrown. Rules warriors dancing daringly on the edge of being just active enough to avoid DQ.

    Who were the all-time masters of boxing entropy?

    Interesting how difficult will find it to name guys from before the 1970s here. People just did not care if boring fighters got ****ed over before that. It was, ironically, a very risky style to employ.

    Ernesto Miranda. He earned two draws and a frustrating decision loss against Eder Jofre in their first three fights. Jofre, however, earned his revenge in the fourth. Miranda was, I believe, the South American champion and a quality opponent.

    Johny Nelson for 80% of his career. What annoyed me most was when he wanted to he could give an exciting fight and stellar performances, but would often fail to.
