Holyfield had no business being in that ring. Guess what? He looked like a 58 y old completely shot fighter and the ref stopped the fight
    at the right time.

58 is just way, way too old.

Belfort was trying to take his head off and Holyfield was offering nothing in return.

No plan there, he just finally realized he couldn't do it anymore.

Ah maybe explains it a bit better. Idiotic decision to let a 58 year old fight him if thats the case really.

Holyfield a expert of the boxing game in his day, faced some true scary fighters and held his own with them, yet in this last bout was reduced to a stumbling shadow of his former self.

I sincerely hope in cold light of day and upon reflection he makes the right decision to say 'NO Mas', thanks for the memories Mr Holyfield.

This is all about the head trauma from all those ring wars, not age. Those constant blows to the head throughout the years have caused a noticeable balance and reflex problem.

Your thinking was correct about a 58 year old ex boxer doing well in this match if they didn't show signs of brain trauma from years of ring wars like Holyfield. That brain trauma messes with balance, reflexes, etc.

I said in another post that Holyfield is taking the **** out of boxing. He had his day and i don’t think he’ll come back after this but if he does he’s ruining it for the up and coming fighters. His constant comebacks became a joke. Give it about 5 more years and let’s see what state he’s in.

Thats what i,m putting it down to anyway. If theres anyone thats suspected of head trauma holyfield would be a top suspect. Went on far too long. Heavyweight punches as well...was only ever gonna end one way in hindsight. Quietly thought he,d surprise a lot of people...but too far gone in hindsight. Absolute warrior in his day as well.

That's the thing. Being a warrior, Holyfield had really pushed himself through many tough wars. That constant head trauma is eventually going to hinder one's reflexes and balance.

Holyfield actually sounds more coherent these days than he did some years ago, bizarrely. He was stumbling all over his words and not making much sense in many interviews, but I was a bit surprised that he sounded better leading up to and after this bout.

    Anyone else think that?

The problem is that this guy is not good with his money and seems to do anything for a bit of money.

Yes, he seems okay but showed terrible balance in the ring, especially falling down from throwing a punch.

Different parts of bran control differing functions, so speech improvement not indicator of improvement or no deficit in other areas.
Speech therapy can improve communication clarity even in brain injured folk.

Sad end to a illustrious career whatever way we look at it

What? I simply asked if anybody had also noticed an improvement in his speech.

Just highlighting fact of hearing that speech has improved does not mean a persons neuro is working better/healed, apologies if my post failed to answer your question, but yes his speech did seem to have improved.
