Nah mate, the OP was about how little the fight had been promoted as it's so close, which is a valid observation. Then it was derailed, as usual, by lots of imaginary willy waving on behalf of whether Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua has sold more tickets or pay per view buys and who is more popular, like it matters. Now that's boring. I'm interested in the fight, the boxing match, as it's against two top heavyweights. Couldn't care less about how many 'numbers' it does, and neither should anyone apart from those making the filthy lucre.
Not interested either way as to who is getting what, couldn't care less. These superstars need to get rid of their designer chihuahuas and start actually fighting... If not it will all be gone before they know it...
You can only compare with what we have. Fury is comfortably the 2nd biggest boxing star in the UK. Even you, as someone who doesn't like him, can admit that i'm sure.
That’s your choice to move the goalposts then. At present it’s fair to say he’s the second most popular boxer in the UK behind Joshua. Whatever metric you’re using for deciding who’s a star and who isn’t is neither here nor there.
The lack of press is unsurprising. The fight sold out within minutes, neither AJ or Usyk would be ‘getting into it’ and flipping tables at press events and travel restrictions prevented Usyk from moving in and out of the Ukraine. I’m sure they’ll be enough talking points during fight week to wet the appetite. End of the day, the quality of the fight sold itself
Exactly. 2 respectful fellas not interested in trash talk. Fight sells itself. Any news on referee and judges?
Price confirmed at a pony. This isn't a fight in principle I would mind paying for. But when they have scrimpt on an undercard. I won't be paying. If it was a pony, with some good British title level fights and maybe a decent world title I would happily pay for the nights entertainment. Serve up that shite on the undercard. I wont
Looking forward to this. It's lost a fair amount of intrigue if I'm honest given Usyk's lukewarm performances at heavy but it's interesting nonetheless. I fancy Joshua to KO him late. I hope Usyk can rekindle a bit of the old magic though and make him work for it though.
Fights next Saturday, can't wait. Won't be an easy fight for Joshua but I do believe he KO's him inside 10.
Completely agree here. It's a terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE undercard, but I am too intrigued by the main event to not buy this. I think AJ is going to have that bit too much in the later rounds, but it's going to be an intriguing match.
If joshua catches him cold first round this will go.down as the worst ppv in history, sky are going to struggle to sell.anything in the future with that total **** take of an undercard I thought joshua was all.about the whole ppv package making sure the undercard was full of competitive high level fights??? I know he is off after this fight but honestly the card is a disgrace
Agreed. The lack of promotion is understandable, Eddie isn’t really with Sky anymore is he. I was only interested in the promotion for Fury - Wilder as it’s a good indicator whether the fight is happening which I now think it is.
