Sky have signed practically the best stable they could with what’s available. It’s the second best stable in Britain. I think they need to sign one or two more headliners before they have an offering on PPV which for them is what’s its all about. currently they only have one or two Ppv fights to make. Such as Eubank vs BJS
Surely most fighters will want to fight on Sky rather than a streaming app. Can't see the money being too different and the exposure is much higher on Sky.
Hearn does need to get his act together a bit. He is front and centre of DAZN. Given he kept boasting of his budget at DAZN and the fact he had peanuts with Sky, he shouldn't be losing the likes of Kelly. He hasn't put on a US card for months, he keeps using British lads to fill gaps on random cards in Europe. He needs to focus on the primary markets, mainly the UK and get regular to tier fights. He should look at bidding for some Area title fights for his UK cards. Will cost pennies, normallynthey are good fights and if the winner looks decent sign them. Losing as many fighters to Sky as he has seems pretty unacceptable for me.
Personally think Sky missed a trick not given by Wasserman the exclusive contract along with Top Rank. the Sauerlands know how to promote and are very experienced. They be all accounts seem to be the promoter actually signing these boxers to promotional contracts. Who does boxxer actually have under contract?
The make or break for Eddie will be AJ , first he has to win against Usyk and secondly decide what platform?
Sky have got a good ticket selling North East show on their hands. Ritson, Kelly & Savanah Marshall all on board.
Eddie will be a glorified PA for AJ if as expected he resigns with Sky. Adam Smith and Sky will also marginalise Eddie as much as possible from the promotion next week, and I’m expecting it to be an uncomfortable experience, whether that’s visible to us or not. I say this as a person who for the good of DAZN and us financially, would prefer AJ signed on with DAZN UK. From a business model perspective, this is not feasible though - it would only work if DAZNs owner personally underwrites a massive guarantee to AJ.
