To me, this is the best video on the Cus D'Amato method I have seen. Really great. Take a look-

And an insane work ethic. It's such a physically demanding style staying in a crouch for so much of a fight, that alone would have most pro's in trouble. Once Tyson wasn't 100% focused it really made a difference in his effectiveness but when he was, he for me maybe the most effective fighter ever at heavyweight when it came to cutting the distance and getting up close. His ability slip the jab, even Holmes jab was insane.

    Everything is demanding.

It is if you have good legwork and whole body work for this with decent speed and agility.
If no, still it might be usable for counters.

Boxer who uses peek a bo preferably does have very good legs and legwork, all body involved and preferably is more athletic than his opponent.
Usually used by guys who are short, stocky and still explosive type fighters.
For counters this requires patience level really very high level discipline. U see attacker's strike moment and do counter you follow with combo.

For me did not looked enough suitable cos then I had competed more in KB not boxing. Later I had more interest about boxing.

Also insanely fast twitch muscles from head to toe, and a work ethic and discipline to dedicate most of your day to go 12 rounds of constant and active twitch muscles. Mike Tysons resume/career has its question but a prime Tysons work ethic cannot be discredited.

    All styles requires this.

Peek a bo is more suitable if you are shorter than opponent and with faster legs than he does have, still not less, preferably more athletic than opponent.
    It is good stuff.

Otherwise: if you do have serious reach advantage and also power advantage, why not to outbox by classic your opponent?
Boxer should use his anatomical and other advantages vs opponents.

yes but lets just say for example, Ali's style, especially in the mid to late 70s he did slacked A LOT, skip training, diet not straight, this made him not perform the best of his ability at all, the Spinks fight was the last hard working late 70s Ali we ever saw. Tysons style could NEVER slack on training or anything similar, when it did, well we know what happened in Tokyo don't we . Tyson never had that same work ethic and motivation and it showed, Tyson just could not afford to slack as he already was a small heavyweight and depended on abilities like head movement and fast feet, in which he barely used in his career after Douglas.

Surrix, you do realise some styles take more energy output then others, right?

Yeah and the same might be told about other styles.
For example if you use mover's style with high output to out jab opponents and score on them long range punches while constantly moving, it too takes a lot.
Aka Usyk in ams and this requires also good, fast and sharp angles change.

It takes a lot, some styles require more, some lesser but while talking about energy you should see that fighters are with different reach and build for the same weight class.
Style suitable for guy like Campbell doesn't looks suitable for Tank and there question is about reach difference alone at first.

Some boxers does have lesser consuming styles, some should use more consuming styles.
In high level long rounds fights there a lot depends also from boxer's ability to be slow/ fast/ slow / fast and fool an opponent not only with traps and feints, also with pace change and " speed " change.

    Youre missing the point.

There are high energy styles, and less energetic styles.

People are merely pointing out that Tysons style, when done right, is an energy demanding style.

That there are some other styles that are also high energy, is self evident, and beside the point.

I agree with your take. A boxing match is grueling regardless but some styles take more focus or energy output. I consider the Mayweather style a low energy style because it’s all about slowing down the action to make for easy counters, but it is a mentally exhausting style because you have to pay attention 100% of the time what the opponent is doing. Tyson’s style can only be recreated by young explosive guys. I can’t imagine older slower boxers using this style.

    Why?
I had watched peek a bo in slo mo even till 1/4 speed replay and even had did a bit with this.
I watch all body work not only hands and I do know how used body is there. In KB too.
I then was more interested about KB not pro boxing. For boxing too sometimes I had used some stuff like combo from guards ppl see in Glory KB with MT type guards. Not always.

I did not had ppl around who were proficient in peek a bo then, actually to be in AND from US might be some advantage here.

Shawn Porter would be the ideal per fighter to use this style.
