USyK (2021) vs Wlad (2017)

Wlad knocks him out inside 6 rounds.

The Povetkin who fought Wlad was twice the fighter Usyk is.

 

Wlad was too old in 2017. The last thing a 40+ year old fighter wants to deal with is an a younger opponent that has excellent mobility and handspeed along with being very experienced.

 

Prime for prime wlad that was literally his bread and butter smaller guys he could lean on and wear out

 

Jab and grab would win the day.

 

2017, so the Wladimir after Fury.

Look what Fury did to Wladimir with movement and technical ability two years before, Wladimir hadn't fought in 2 years when he fought AJ in 2017, so he was inactive and older, in his 40's.


I think Usyk would have just outboxed him, messed him around at times and frustrated him, Wladimir wasn't anywhere near prime Wladimir in 2017.


But.. Prime Wladimir is a completely different question.

Wlad would most likely be a nightmare match up for Usyk

 

Usyk now isn't prime version anymore.
a 30- 37 y.o Wlad vs prime Usyk versions: I think Wlad via stoppage. Wlad actually had supported promising ukrainian boxers, he does knows Usyk since Usyk was elite level amateur.
2006 th: Usyk had medals in Ukrainian and Euro championship, Wlad then was 30 and fought vs Byrd. Klits knew about Usyk.
2018 th: Usyk fights in WBSS, he was with K2 prom and Klits: his fans. They also had sparred, both Klits vs Usyk.
Dunno had they fought if they both were in HW division. To attempt beat supported bud? K2 is one from Klits bros businesses.

 

2006-2013 Wlad I think just had walked Usyk down.
The same Wlad's opponents versions: Povetkin from 2013, Chagaev from 2009, Haye from 2011 th: I think they too had stopped current 2020-2021 th version of Usyk. If he had them in the ring not Chisora in his last fight.

 

Prime Wald easily

 

Usyk 2021 ? We have not seen him fight this year yet.

 

Wlad was prime around 30-35. He would definitely beat Usyk.

 

Prime wlad was a goat regardless if people want to believe it or not.

 

Usyk has seemed OK but not amazing at HW thus far. You'd have to favour Wlad.
