Gazelle, to this day, I am stunned Layne got up from that right hand. Not to mention actually winning.
Lyle v Shavers is a absolute grit of war between two punching monsters with hearts of a lion, it is unfortunate that it wasn't preserved well and it seems there isn't any better quality version then this one. This content is protected
My my, who made that? Okay back to the topic, here are some underrated fights: Bob Satterfield vs Elkins Brothers David Izon vs Lou Savarese/Michael Grant/Darrol Wilson Andrew Golota vs Orlin Norris Tyrell Biggs vs Jeff Sims Tim Witherspoon vs Frank Bruno Joe Frazier vs Manuel Ramos Ron Lyle vs Jerry Quarry Ken Norton vs Jose Luis Garcia (Extremely Underrated) Trevor Berbick vs Greg Page
That was a great fight. It also seemed winnable for Briggs, and like he lost by repeatedly allowing himself to be hit in the face.
He lost because he has awful stamina, not helped by being an asthmatic. He went all out to finish Wilson in the early rounds, tired himself out and had nothing left by the 3rd round. Wilson is also a bit underrated and Briggs underestimated him, Wilson has been involved in some terrific wars vs Courage Tshabalala, David Izon, so hes not the pushover that Briggs thought he would be.
